Busy, Busy, Busy.......

Well My Lovelies, it's been a busy day.........

Mr Bea fetched Clarice back from the doctors today, it's no wonder she hadn't been stitching very well, her timing was out, her wheel was stuck.....the repair man said she really wasn't being used enough, so guess what I'll be doing more of in the future!

I finished this, I will reveal more after Christmas, as its a present! I've also been indulging in a little (actually a lot!) of Pom Pom making....

Turning this.....into these!

It really is like magic! They do make me smile!

I've been turning some granny squares into lavender bags too.

Minnie's been busy too......sleeping!

I hope everyone is well and enjoying the lead up to the festive season! Thank you for popping by, I'll pop over to see you all before Christmas....see what you're up too, no doubt it will be creative, colourful, and Christmassy!

I've been trying to pop over to say hello to some new commenters, but google+ hasn't let me, and I'm not sure why! I will try again over the holidays.

Bye for now,

It's Not Just Christmas That's Arrived.....

The Winter Bugs arrived too this week......poor Little Bea and then Mr Bea down with them, luckily Eldest Bea and myself have escaped.....fingers crossed!

I've begun to wrap pressies, write cards, much, much later then usual, but I'm getting there. And you know what, it's just one day! Everything will be ok!
So I'm not stressing and today I'm taking a day off from Christmas. My body is telling me I need rest, so that's what I'm doing.....

And I'll crack on with this.....get those Christmas pressies finished, I'll pop the lights on the tree, might even watch a Christmas movie, I can almost do that now, watch TV and crochet!

How are you getting on with the Christmas preparations? Anyone else wishing we could go back to 1950s Christmas traditions, a stocking and small pressie for the children, Christmas dinner, with crackers and paper hats of course, time with family......no mad rushing around, filling shopping trolleys with ridiculous amounts of food. The shops only really close for one day! It's one day!

Might even read a little too.....

I hope all is going well with your Christmas preparations, and I hope, really hope, you aren't getting stressed by it all, after all.......it's only one day!

Bye for now,

Happy Today Because.....

I have a Happy Basket that follows me around my home, full of the things I love.....

I've started to use some of my yarn stash....to make lovely things....

I might not be adding to my Mothers' Love blanket, but that doesn't stop me admiring those little squares......

Finding some King Cole Merino yarn, hiding in the bargain basket at my local yarn shop......will be added to my blanket in the New Year.......

Mr Postie delivering me a lovely parcel yesterday....two lovely vintage angels for my Lampshade Tree, thank you Shevie, I love them!

Having an added bonus in the parcel, it's a bit sparkly! Love a bit of sparkle at Christmas......

Seeing my home fill with festive cheer, tree up this weekend, and having a little time to relax.......

Treating myself to a magazine.....Lucy is going to have a column, can't wait to see what she comes up with each issue......

What's making you happy today?

Thank you as always for your comments, they too make me Very Happy!

Silly Old Suitcase Love......

I LOVE.... Silly Old Suitcase if you know her, you'd love her too! She's creative, she's colourful, she's talented, she's Bonkers......she's inspiring!

When I saw her Christmas Light-shade I just knew I had to put these to good use....

Some leftover lampshades from my Lampshade Tree.....they've been sat in the cupboard, I was just waiting for the right moment, the right inspiration!

It's not as beautiful as Marartje's, but that's ok, it's colourful, it's wacky, it's Bonkers......and full of things that mean so much to my family!

Christmas Bells that belonged to my Grandma, fairies bought by my Mum for the girls, handmade garlands and stars from Bloggy friends! My special teacup....lots of beautiful things.

Yes Completely Bonkers....like me! Can't wait to see my families faces....and I wonder who will be the first to have an ornament land on their head!!!

Sorry the photos aren't that good! Pom poms will be added later, I'll try to get a better photo then.

Thank you Maartje you are a marvel!

And THANK YOU for all your wonderful comments on my last post. They were very touching. Most of you who read this blog regularly, will know that my Mum has Alzheimer's and can do nothing for herself anymore.
It's very sad to see someone who was so energetic, creative, intelligent and so lovely fade away, it's heartbreaking. I'd love her to see the things I make, to understand what I do, but sadly this isn't to be anymore. I know many of you also live with the knowledge that someone you love, is fading away.

Welcome all those of you who have found me via Bunny Mummy, it's lovely to have you visit and I hope you will pop back.

Bye For now, must dash.......Pom Poms to make, lots and lots of Pom poms, they're addictive you know.....

Perfection May Be Closer Than You Think......

Can I tell you about My Most Perfect Day? The best day......ever.....?!! Is that ok, do you want to hear all about it?

Are you sitting comfortably? Then I will begin......

I woke this morning, feeling a little tired its been a full on week at work but it's the weekend, and we've lots of fun things to look forward too.

After a leisurely breakfast, Mr Bea and I start to tackle the housework. We don't go mad, just a general tidy up, we're having guests and I'm eager to show off our Christmas tree! I want everything to look Christmas Cosy!

My Mum, Dad, Sisters and their families will be over later, bit of an early Christmas tea, we will be together on Christmas Day but often get together to share a meal together.

Mums been swooning over my Lampshade Christmas Tree, I've been secretly making one for her.....I can't wait to see her face! I love to share my crafts with her. Dad will probably have a little bit of a moan, they've only got a small flat but he loves Christmas, and he loves me, so he will easily be won around!

I've just finished making my sisters some Pom Pom garlands too, I've become addicted to making them!

Suddenly I realise the time, so quickly go into the kitchen to prepare our meal. I've not gone crazy, we have some lovely treats and a couple of good bottles of wine to drink. I've never gone mad on the catering, as long as we have enough I'm happy, I hate food wastage, especially when there are so many starving people in the world. I don't really have a food budget, and it seems ludicrous to me that I might one day have to save up, to put on a feast like this.

Mr Bea goes to pick up the girls. Eldest Bea has gone into town with friends, to try on the latest fashions no doubt, perhaps buy a few Christmas presents. She's doing what most teenagers do, no sensory issues, no concept of what it's like to be Autistic.

Little Bea has been to her dance classes, she has a part in the Christmas show so everything's stepped up a little, with extra rehearsals. Occasionally I will have a little moan about the cost of the lessons, how expensive it is to buy the show costumes, just like the other mums do, but she's a natural entertainer.....and isn't that what parents are supposed to do? Encourage their children, we can afford it, so we do.

It's starting to get dark when everyone seems to arrive at once, lots of laughter, lots of hugs, lots of chatter......eating and drinking. The girls busily telling their grandparents about their day. A few tears shed when Mum is presented with her Christmas tree! She's always so emotional!

We have a quick chat about where we would like to go next year for our holiday, we always book a cottage by the sea, all together. Lyme Regis this year we think!

As the wine flows we start to discuss what we'd do with a lottery win, it's always the same, usually starting off with an idea from Dad.....he loves this game.......

I don't want to win the lottery.

What I would like is this Perfect Day. A day where my parents were here, so I could give my dad the biggest bear hug ever, where we had no understanding of the heartbreak that Alzheimer's brings. One where I was full of energy, where I could work full time......so I could put on these feasts, and where paying for dance lessons isn't given a second thought. A day where my eldest daughter could go into town, with her friends and try on the latest fashions, and not feel overwhelmed by her senses.

Hold tight to what you have, it might just be your Perfect Day.

Have a lovely weekend,

Bye For Now,

Ada :) xxx
