In My Head...I'm Just Your Average Mum Of Two, Crafty Girl, With Her Vintage Ways.....

Then my body tells me different!!!

I am a Mum of Two, I am a Crafty Girl and I do have my Vintage Ways, but I'm not so 'average'. I need to manage a 'chronic health condition', well that's what They tell me at the hospital!

I've been having so much fun lately, taking the girls out, getting ready for my little Craft Fair and trying to be an 'average' Mum that I haven't been listening to my body. I haven't been taking heed of the lighthouse (hence the above picture!) and feel like I've crashed, ( only a little crash this time, I've had much bigger ones!), into the rocks!

My body is exhausted. Its like the toddler you take to the supermarket, at first they really enjoy all the sights, colours and sounds, then it all gets too much! They plonk themselves down on the floor, make lots of noise and refuse to move! My body has got slower and slower and Has Had Enough! It's plonked itself down!

I'm sorry I haven't been to visit your blogs, or leave you my little thoughts, and I promise I will do very soon but I need to rest a while. Those word verification thingies aren't half difficult when you are tired!

Thank you all for your comments on my suitcase! You are all so kind, it's great to share Crafty Stuff with you all!

I'm going to draw my Giveaway now on the 2nd of September as I need to try and concentrate on my little Craft Stall, my Big Sis is going to help me out on the day, thanks Big Sis!

Hope you have fun over the next few days and those of you getting ready to go back to school, hope you have the uniforms sorted! I will be back soon as I need to share with you the lovely 'Sister Day' we had!

Ada :) x

  3. Hi Ada,
I am sorry to hear that, I know exactly what it's like when your head is so busy with ideas but your body tells you "stop!." And then it refuses to do what you want it to. Have a good rest (as much as you can anyway), and ditch all the non-essential stuff. Feel better soon.

  4. Aah poop - I am so sorry you are ill....bodies can be such treacherous things! Wouldn't it be lovely to be able to trade in the worn out bits and get new ones. I hope you get better soon and regain your strength and energy.

Love the 'doily on vintage sheet' - so pretty...best combo in the world. :)

  7. Aww Ada, hope you're feeling full of vim again soon ... the school hols take it out of us all! Have a good rest chuck ...

PS: Is it just me or are these word verification thingys getting harder to encode ... sometimes it takes me 3 times to get it right, feel like giving up, but won't let it beat me!

  8. There are no prizes for doing it all despite how we kid ourselves. I prescribe a few pootly days to finish the hols then a few even pootlier ones once the Smalls are safely back at school. Cups of tea, radio 4, maybe some baking or fiddling in the garden and some more tea. That's what I am planning for me too and there is nothing wrong with me!

    Hope you feel better soon.

  10. The women in this lovely blogging community do a heck of a lot in supporting each other through the ups and downs - health/domestic/creative/emotional/practical so I am sure, Ada, that you are feeling the 'lurve'!!! ; ) from us all. So many of us, to a greater or lesser degree, are quietly going through life coping with ill health whilst living their lives to the full. I know having a creative outlet is good for me, and knowing I have both 'in the flesh' and 'bloggy' friends is a great boost.

Here's more power to your elbow - or indeed, whichever bit(s) of you could be functioning a bit better. Lxxxx

  13. Thanks you Guys, you are all so Brill! I know there are a lot worse of than myself, and I certainly never do the whole feeling sorry for myself but I do know when to stop and rest! I have a whole afternoon to rest, my girls are with their friends ( my friends are sooo good at stepping in when needed! ), and I'm resting doing my favourite quiet activity, blog reading! Thank you for your concern, I will be back up and hobbling soon! Ada :) x

  22. Dear Ada, now is the time to just be........just be you. You may want to be everything to everybody but none of us can do that. You sound like a full on fun person from the little I can glean from this blog, with a very big heart. Take care of your heart and soul, the best thing you can do for those who love you the most.
Enjoy the blog reading but pace your recovery....it is OK to slow down. xxxxx

  31. I disappeared for a few days for a holiday trip. The first thing I find, when I got back on line, is that my dear bloggy friend is less than her best. Hope you are re-charging quickly, so that you can enjoy your vendor experience. Looking forward to updates when you are able to share.

  32. R&R prescribed Ada - our earthly bodies sometimes don't do all the we ask of them and we need a break from that hustle and bustle.
Best wishes and wellness coming your way

  33. Oh gosh - that doesn't sound good, but I can completely understand. I have days where I have more energy then I know what to do with and then end up crashing for the rest of the week - I wish my body could regulate it.

    Take care and rest well

  34. you have such a delightful blog...A lot of the fabrics remind me of my bedding as a child- love the bright vintage patterns and colours.
I have been catching up on older posts to get to know your blog. I sat with tears reading of your dear, kind mother and those cherished hands that brought you up...i loved those words. We've had family members with similar illness and its sad to see someones personality being taken and the shell of a living body left behind. On another note i bet she would be so proud of all your doings and makes, bless you x
