Hello February...
I don't know about you but January has just zipped by, far too quickly, someone seems to have pressed the fast forward button. I've really embraced January, we've done very little socialising, preferring to be at home, just the four of us. Usually I love being out and about, but the bug I got at the new year has slowed me down, even more than usual. So that's meant plenty of time to finish the blanket for my studio. I will take some more photos once the light levels are better.
I've been clawing back some more Me time too, time that has been taken by one little, very lively puppy. I'm now feeling less guilty about leaving him for short periods whilst I get on with my own pursuits...out with friends, or in my studio. I know it's good to leave him, and he needs to learn to be on his own, but I can't help being a big softy!
I'm no plans for February, I've got a Sunburst project I started an age ago. Maybe a little stitching. I'm not sure, I'm going to see where my creativity takes me. There will also be stuff to sort in the garden this month, Otto seems to enjoy chewing any new green shoot, so I think gardening with a puppy will be a challenge!
So, have you any plans for the month ahead? Anything you want to start...a new skill you want to learn, or one of those WIPs you really, really need to finish...after all we've all got lots of those!!!
Thank you for all the comments you leave, I really appreciate you spending the time to leave them, and I love reading them too.

January whizzed by far too quickly, I hope February is much slower, and trying to take each day at a time......
ReplyDeleteLove your crochet. Otto sound an absolute delight.
Julie xxxxx
He is Julie, just high maintenance at the moment, one day I'm sure he will snuggle up close to me without causing too much chaos! ;) xxx

DeleteI agree January seems to have passed by quickly, I love the colours of your blanket and your coffee pot!, I am hoping to finish a pair of socks in February and make a item of clothing - Yay!x
ReplyDeleteThere are so many of you sock knitters out there, I wouldn't know where to start! ;) xxx
DeleteDogs get depressed when left alone, they are social animals and like companionship.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry Anonymous, he's only been left for an hour and has plenty of chew toys and treats to keep him occupied :) xxx
DeleteJanuary has sped by hasn't it! I hope that February will be a good month for you and that you will keep enjoying those beautiful granny squares! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy...I think it could be a busy time in the garden, weather allowing! :) xxx
DeleteHi Amanda, the white edging on your crochet squares looks really attractive, glad you have found some time for yourself and both Minnie and Otto are adorable.
ReplyDeletexoxoxo ♡
Thanks Dianne, I think the edge really brings out the other colours :) xxx
DeleteLovely crochet in the making x
ReplyDeleteThank you :) xxx
DeleteI am sure Otto will be happy in his own company, we all need peace and quiet sometimes and maybe he does too! Lots of colourful squares you have and liking the white to link them all together. Enjoy your time in the garden and studio too of course, my grass has grown all through the winter but mower packed up in the autumn must buy a new one was surprised to see a neighbour cutting their lawn the other day as it is so very wet and have never mowed in winter before.
ReplyDeleteYou are right Margaret, we all need time by ourselves and I'm sure animals fee the same. Our grass has continued to grow too, it's been such a mild winter :) xxx
DeleteMorning Amanda, your blanket is looking great. I have no plans as yet for a project. I am just doing up a road trip travel scarf to give my niece for her birthday.
ReplyDeleteMakes the pressie even more special! :) xxx
DeleteLovely colours, lovely kitty and lovely Ercol chair in the first picture!
ReplyDeleteThank you Stephanie, the chairs were an eBay find, and the cat found us! ;) xxx
DeleteHi Amanda
ReplyDeleteWOw, your SUnurst blanket is really coming on well. It looks lovely. MIne is put away to sleep for a bit. I've chosen another old WiP for February. The Maybelle Flowers. I'm making a baby blanket for my brother's baby girl. It looks like it is going to be a relatively quick project as the size is smaller than a big throw. SO looking forward to see my flowers hold hands in a blanket. Enjoy your February and keep the slow pace. IT is good for our hearts, our minds and our bodies. Society is quick enough as it is.
Xxx
Annette, I love your Maybelle project, what a beautiful gift for your niece! :) xxx
DeleteYes Amanda, the time passes quickly and the weather here in Italy is like that of April or May too, I can say...so you can imagine my confusion!!! ;-)))
ReplyDeleteH&K,
Miriam
I bet you are Miriam...enjoy the spring weather, even if it is still winter! ;) xxx
DeleteSuch a pretty blanket, Jan did seem to fly by as for Feb I'm slightly panicing as our craft clubs exhibtion starts at the end of feb and I still have things to make eek.
ReplyDeleteClare xx
Quick Clare, you'd better get stitching! ;) xxx
DeleteJanuary has slipped by in a frenzy of decluttering for me. I've not been blogging in any sort of organized way, and have not been by here for ages Amanda. I just read back through all of your January posts to catch up with you. I love your gardening dreams and plans, and I know you will get exactly what you want eventually. That studio is one such dream already, right?! I do hope Otto is not getting away with too much mischief when he sends you a sweet puppy dewy-eyed look! I'll bet he has some special looks that melt your heart ;) We have left our dog for entire days on his own (once house broken), and he was fine. He has a rabbit for company now too, which I think (secretly) brings him comfort. It's been nice catching up, and I hope you have a wonderful week, and a fabulous February too. I'm so glad you're embracing Jan & Feb into your life again! I love winter, so I'm good till March!
ReplyDeleteWendy
Thanks for popping in Wendy, hope the decluttering is going well and you've not drowned under a mountain of boxes! The garden plans are on track, just need to keep Otto from eating all the plants...wonder if I can train him just to eat the weeds! ;) xxx
