A Picture A Day...24

Beautiful Cosmos. I shared this image on Instagram earlier in the week, it's so beautiful, I had to share it on here too. I do love a bit of colour. Grown from seed, I have to say they are taller and stronger than any I've ever bought. This year I started a cutting patch, these have rather taken over. Next year I will plan my cutting patch better, maybe add another raised bed, a wider variety too. If you have a cutting patch, what do you grow?

Have a great Sunday,

Amanda :) xxx

  1. Morning Amanda, Sunny Sussex here. I bought some of these this year (plants not seeds, don't have green fingers!) I have just started to get flowers and the centres are amazing. Are you able to cut the flowers for vases? Have a good day.

  2. It's lovely, cosmos really are such a great flower, they go on and on and on. I tried growing white ones this year, but they've all turned out to be pink or red! Sweet peas are lovely for cutting and grown up a wigwam they look great while they're growing as well. Roses are always a nice cut flower if you can find a corner for them. I'm still experiment with annuals to find a good combination. This year I have some lime green nicotiana which look lovely with white flowers or darker reds and pinks. Sarah Raven is always good for cut flower inspiration. Worth getting her catalogue even if it's just to flick through for ideas. I hope you have a good Sunday. CJ xx

    1. Think this is the reply I would have given CJ! I love Sarah Raven, bit expensive so just the occasional treat but wish I could get all my flowers from her. I've got the lime green nicotiana which is lovely and I've just ordered some tulips from her for spring :) xxx

  3. A very beautiful flower. Gorgeous colour. I put some wild flower seeds in a big pot and that is flowering very well too. In all different shades of blue. I love that too.
    Love,
