Half term came and went, in a flash!
Time spent crafting with the girls and their friends......vintage crafting, start them appreciating vintage at a young age, that's what I say! Little lavender bags, for precious Mums!
Some PJ days.....and some walks........
We went to Rufford Park in Nottinghamshire, one of our favourite places!
Feeding Ducks.....
Mother Nature tricked me good and proper at the beginning of the week, the sun shone, slightly warmer, she had me fooled thinking Spring was on her way, it's freezing again now! There is hope though, the evenings are lighter, and there are a few flowers!
There's some brilliant sculpture dotted around the park.
Oh, and I managed a bit of crafting time for me....sorry rubbish photos, will take some more later in the week, when I get the chance....
I've finished the top, still need to quilt, but Clarice, my sewing machine, is a little off colour, she has tension issues ( don't we all! ), so I'm not sure I want to chance finishing my quilt until that's been sorted!
I want to use cotton batting, any ideas where I can get it from in the UK? I've got a great sheet to back it with too, very exciting!
I've been very strict with myself and imposed a 'Blog Ban' this week, I've just taken a little peak at your blogs....so many lovely things happen in such a short space of time, so much creativity! I will try and catch up with you all over the next few days!
I will be having a little give away next week, I'm joining up with a friend who's gifting a lovely bottle of perfume. She's just setting up her online perfume shop, perfume and vintage sheets, perfect combo! See you all soon.....
Ada :) x
I'm sure we all want to come round to your house to play with vintage fabrics - great idea to make lavender bags for special Mothers' Day presents. I struggled to get cotton batting too but ended up getting a huge amount for £5 on a fabric stall at Leeds Market - so perhaps similar market stalls could help? x

ReplyDeleteThere's lots dotted all over, I great place to explore! :) x
DeleteSounds pretty much like our week Ada. Bit of fresh air and for the rest not getting dressed. Now only four weeks until the next hols.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is so neat and tidy a brillant first one, mine was so wonky and the next and the next...
Batting you can get anywhere. They sell it on the roll in our local quilting shop and fabric shops. Cotton batting makes it feel all light and soft. The synthetic stuff (which you can buy in a bundle from J.Lewis) makes for a spongy and cosy feeling quilt. Depends on the feel you want. Hope that helps.

Thank Lisa, I think I want it to be thinish so cotton batting would be perfect! :) x
DeleteCreative Grids are the best value (I think) in the UK, if you order and spend over £30 you get 10% off every order forever after (no matter what the value). They have a range of cotton, cotton/poly. I've used cotton and it's nice but I generally use Hobbs 80/20 which gives more of a loft and feels warmer. Have fun looking!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :) x
DeleteLove your quilt! Glad you had a lovely half term, looks like you had a good balance of craft/family time. Love, Mrs RV x

ReplyDeleteWell your girls and friends MUST be hooked on vintage and crafting after spending time making these lovely lavender bags!! So cute and girly ... I'll bet the girls will want to keep them for their own :) Compared to us you DO have spring on your doorstep! Green Grass!! Thawed ponds!! I'm getting just a little bit tired of winter now and want to feel a balmy breeze.
