Little Cupboard Love....

I wish I could just shrink myself down to just 3 inches high...

I could then live in my little cupboard......

I LOVE my little cupboard....it's colourful, happy, full of vintage loveliness.

But unfortunately, I can't shrink.....so I'll just have to keep my FQ's in here!

Well, you've got to keep them somewhere, haven't you!

So my lovely little cupboard....will sit on top of my big cupboard, obviously NOT on a slope, that's just daft!

And keep my wonderfully delicious FQ's safe and sound!

I was in two minds whether to paint this little cupboard or leave it alone. I actually liked it how it was, I love the fact that someone years ago, cobbled it together using up bits and bobs from around their home, but now I'm glad I did.

As I was painting and sticking the wallpapers in, I thought about who had originally made it, who was it made for, what did they use it for! I won't ever know....and they won't know how I've changed it, how I've updated it, to fit into my colourful home. To become useful again.

I'm might not a brilliant at sewing, crochet is always going to be a challenge for me. I can't bake for the life of me, but I think I've found my love.....turning an old treasure into a new one! (I will just have to keep practicing with the sewing and crocheting!)

Bedroom renovations are coming on at a very slow pace, one wardrobe done and I'm starting the second later. It's booooooring, I want to crack on but I've chosen oil based eggshell paint, its taking about 16 hours to dry before I can put the next coat on!

But it will get done, then I can do my favourite bit, putting the finishing touches to the room! Love that bit, don't you?!

Has anyone seen 91 Magazine? It's a great online magazine from the author of Patchwork Harmony Blog. If you get chance take a look, it's has the lovely Candy Pop featured in it. She has a gorgeous home!

As always, thank you so much for spending the time to leave comments, I love reading them.

Bye for now, back later in the week!

Ada Bea.....old cupboard lover! :) xxx

  5. I saw a similar cupboard at a consignment store last week, and I instantly thought "now wouldn't Ada B love THAT!". I love what you've done with your cupboard ... I always have the same indecision of whether to keep it original or update it. I think your update is perfect ... the wallpaper seen through those little glass doors is so intriguing! And the whole thing looks so cute sitting on top of another cupboard. And don't worry about your sewing or crochet ... enjoy the experience as it unfolds for you, and take satisfaction in the lovely pieces you've created along the way (no one's judging you!). Have a great day Ada. Wendy x

  7. Boxes, cupboards - LOVE 'em! And this is a lovely little one, so pretty what you've done inside too. I am getting the urge to paint stuff again, looking at the remaining dining room chairs with a critical eye!

Have bookmarked Candy Pop to devour later - thanks for the tip! Lx

  22. Yes, I like that idea! But what happens when the FQ's have too many babies and the house becomes too small? They may demand a bigger house one day......ahhh that's why you are painting wardrobes! :-)
