Mo Jo Back.....

Monday evening I was wondering what to do, I felt I needed to make something, but wasn't sure what to settle on.....my mind has been racing lately, too many things to think about, and you know that I don't like to think too much! I looked at my sheets, not them. I looked in my little cupboard, wishing I could live there...no not vintage wallpaper this time.

Opened my footstool (still not covered inside, I thought, but not today, don't want sticky fingers!). But then I was drawn to the yarn, it pulled me in...look at those colours!

So picked up my hook and started to crochet.

It felt familiar, good.

It's been helping me clear my mind.

It felt good.

Meditate, meditate...

Out into the garden, at the first glimmer of sun.

Not many glimpses so far this week...

I love the colours....have I told you, I love the colours?!

Don't they look lovely, not the best crochet in the world though, but not to worry!

Enough to make a cushion cover, well one side anyway! I'm wondering if I should sew it on to this vintage sheet, or just to crochet another side. Part of me wants to carry on and make a blanket, but that would be too expensive, so just small projects for me!

I had a delicious parcel arrive too this week, will share soon!

Thanks for visiting, welcome to new readers, thank you for popping in!

Bye for now!

Ada :) xxx

  2. Loving all those colours, so vibrant and it would make a great cushion. I am all in favour for mixing it with some lovely vintage fabric (no shortage there right?!). It is a shame it costs so much to make a blanket :-(. Pleased to hear that you have your Mojo back lovely Ada. Crochet is just so therapeutic. Love it xoxo

  4. I agree that crochet is very therapeutic. I've been working on something which requires a fair amount of thought but I'm getting ready to put it down for awhile to work on something mindless instead.

  10. Beautiful colour combination Ada, your crochet is amazing for a fairly new beginner to the hooky stuff:o) Really pleased to hear about Mr Mo and Mr Jo returning, it's not often that I'm wondering what to do next but when it does happen I feel a little lost and then when i know what I am doing, I feel somewhat found again ! xox Penny

  12. Lovely! I am teaching my first proper crochet pupil tonight and was planning on granny squares with a view to a nine-square cushion cover. I think a blanket would be great though - you can just buy a few balls at a time! Oh, and if you can do granny squares then you can do three stitches - chain, treble crochet and slip stitch!
    You are doing great!

  13. Therapeutic crochet combined with those juicy colours - that would certainly give one a new burst of mojo! Well done you, those squares look fantastic - I can't believe you claim to know only two stitches! Perhaps use this as a cushion front then practice a granny stripe or a new stitch for the back? You are so good at this, you should find a new stitch and keep progressing! Can't wait to see more, very impressed! Chrissie x

  21. Busy hands, quiet mind, that's what I always think. A bit of sewing or hooking or knitting can be very soothing when we feel restless. The colours are so summery and bright, it will be lovely whatever it is. x

  22. These are such pretty, bright and spunky colours Ada! LOVE them :) Well all you really need is a nice plump cushion after all, right?! I'd want several if I was sitting on that iron bench. I'm glad you found something to while away the hours and let your mind relax and enjoy. Here's to sunny days this weekend please! Wendy x

  27. it's so soothing at the right time isn't it. that bright pink is summer's colour calling. so happy for you. It's always a dilema how to finish off a cushion! Sewing on to material is quite tricky. I find you really need to make a cushion with both sides of material and then sew on, otherwise you end up with the insert showing through. it maybe easy to crochet a back and just slip in a covered cushion! good luck, Heather x

  30. Lovely colours in your crochet! I find it very soothing to crochet but it does use a lot of yarn! I always pick up odd balls of quality yarn in charity shops or when it is on sale. My blankets are made from all sorts of brands but as long as they are all made of the same fibre and the same thickness it doesn't really matter. Colour is the most important thing. Love Mrs RV x
