All About The Girls...

This little trip was all about the girls.

Three girls, 9, 11 and 12, and their Mums, who were determined they had a great time.

And the two Mums, (won't mention their ages!) well they hardly stopped laughing the whole time! So they had a great time too!

Two days, one night, in a caravan....in Skeggy.....yep, those girls had fun!

The weather man said it would rain, all day, yuk the Mums thought.....but it didn't, it waited until they had just returned to the caravan for their first night, then the heavens opened! This just added to the drama, for the two girls who hadn't slept in a caravan before!

First it was the caravan sites playground.....yes girls you can go to the playground....yes all by yourselves, have as long as you like, the Mums were staying put for a cuppa. Gosh the freedom! (They didn't know the Mums could see them!)

Then there was the fair ground....no not getting tokens this time, this time there's no limit on rides, this time you can have wristbands! Unlimited rides! You should have seen their faces! Unlimited rides! Four hours later they were still going strong! (And no, no one was sick!)

The Mums kept sending them on the Waltzer, just to see their reaction, priceless....go on girls, go on again......it's unlimited rides!!! The Mums found it sooooo funny watching them, the dodgems, the big wheel (One brave Mum went on that one!), the twister, roller coaster! Ride after ride.

The Mums just laughed and laughed!

Can we have an ice cream, yes, hot dogs, yes.....fish 'n' chips, yes! Five-a-day went completely out the window! (As it should, when on a mini break in Skegness!)

The two Mums know how lucky they are, their girls ask for very little, they accept it when they're told they can't have something. It felt good to indulge.

And one of the Mums knows just how lucky she is to have such a good friend.

You see when you've got a child who's Extra Special, who can be prone to have 'moments' it's very easy for other parents to judge, comment on your lack of 'discipline'. Just think your child is 'naughty'.

Good friends just support, don't judge, accept you, accept your child, just the way they are. It great to have good friends, parents with Extra Special children need good friends like this.

It can be quite a challenge taking a child, who hates things to be different, on a holiday....where everything is different!

It's not always as relaxing as you would want a holiday to be. It's made easier when your friend is there, to accept and not judge.

Yes, three girls aged 9, 11, and 12 had a fantastic time....and so did their Mums, who's age we will not mention! Yep, this one will be remembered and talked about for some years to come......

The End.

Ada Bea will be back soon, with her latest crochet project......

  7. Friends that are also great Mums and and love fun.....that is priceless. The holiday looks and sounds like a blast. I hope your daughter who is special and unique managed to chill and enjoy the changes with such wonderful support.
Don't let others judge you, their judgements are more about what is going on in their heads rather than anything you have done. They will move on and judge the next person just as harshly.
You just continue being with good friends who know how well you cope with it all.

  9. YOU are having a wonderful summer Ms Ada Bea!! I'm so glad for you and the girls to be able to unwind and enjoy your time away, and also that the weather behaved and made it all perfect. It IS a really great thing to have a few good friends who understand you and your kids ... I have exactly three good friends like that (actually we are all friends of each other and met each other in elementary school!). We can just be ourselves and laugh and laugh when we get together ... it's a wonderful feeling isn't it. I think my last ride on a roller coaster ride was last summer, when I decided I didn't like the après headaches from being whipped around anymore! Now I'll happily watch from the sidelines ;) I hope you have a bit more time left to enjoy some more summertime fun before school starts again. Can't wait to see your crochet project! Wendy x

  24. What a fabulous time you all had! I love a good old British seaside holiday ...

Rain on a caravan roof is very special, especially when you're all tucked in cozily!

Lovely to have special friends, their value is priceless, they don't judge, comment or tut, they just muck in and get on with things, wealth indeed (who needs money)

    Have a lovely day
