Changes.......

I'm working some magic around here......changing circles into squares, gets me every time!!!

Mornings and evenings are changing too, darker, cooler. I'm glad I've my Happy Blanket to snuggle under keeping me warm!

Great for snuggling under whilst taking afternoon naps.....I've needed a few naps over the last few days.....

I'm trying to keep my body going for the last few days of the summer holidays! At least crochet means I need (have an excuse!) to sit!

I've been crocheting away, not many more, then my blankets done!

Yes, it makes me very HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!

My garden is changing too.

Very little colour, I must try and pop some late flowering plants in next year, I say this every year!

I'm thinking of changes too, around our home. It's in desperate need of decoration, some rooms haven't been done in over 11 years! We've been putting it off, enjoying the summer, but things need to be changed, refreshed and revamped. Damp problems and electrics needing to be sorted first though! (Yuk....mess and expense!)

We can't stop the changes so I will embrace them, but not JUST yet.....one more week left, then I'll embrace them......does anyone know where the Pause Button is please......I want to press it!

I will try and pop over to see you all soon, it's quiet here in Blogland, we all seem to have the same idea.....getting out and enjoying the last few days of summer! And all of you in the Southern Hemisphere have got your summer to look forward too! Lucky People!

Bye for now,

Ada :) xxx

My lilies last week!

Need to finish this one too.....ready for cooler days! :) xxx

Can't wait to see all your home ideas come to life, bet they will be colourful. I am itching to get stuck into colourfying Betsy! mel x

  3. Hi Ada,

Your new blanket is gorgeous. It will be SO pretty. Exactely the quilt I plan to make myself but unfortunately time is not on my side.

I adore the picture of the blanket and your feet under it.

And how amazing: your garden just looks like ours.
I adjusted the problem by planting some violets next to the "gone-flower-bushes". That helps!

Can't believe the summer hols are nearly over and for me that means my big boy will soon be starting nursery. Definitely need the pause button here. Feels a bit scary! Enjoy whats left of the summer. It's been a good one. x

  19. Ada Bea I can see you are now " hooked".....this crochet appears to be a very addictive sport. I am glad you are able to rest up when required, it's probably hard to admit you need a rest but if rest is required then rest it is.
Take care and look forward to the season of blanket snuggly days, they too will pass and as sure as night and day the sunny days will return. :-)

  20. Lovely blanket but all those little squares to stitch together! Eeek! :D I guess that's why they always look so darn pretty, it takes a lot of love and work to make them!

Anyway,I just popped over from Hettie Brown's blog to say hi and mosie around your blog a bit... really nice and I look forward to coming back for more visits!
Hugs from a new bloggie friend from across the pond in New Hampshire USA,

  21. your crochet grows by the minute lovely. Can feel autumn in the air now, like you very little colour in the garden but the leaves will turn soon and they are always worth seeing

  22. I love how you stack all your little circles into neat little piles. I tend just to dump mine into the nearest knitting basket. This does tend to leave me spending forever relocating them all though:))

  23. Aah your crochet is looking fabulous. Enjoy the rest of the hols. Xx

  24. Good grief Ada do you never sleep - your round squares are growing at a rate of knots! You're spot on about the garden - I keep telling myself that there will definitely be more colour next year and as for the house - soooooooooo many things that were going to get done over the holidays seem a little bit insurmountable now! Changes are certainly afoot x Jane

  26. The shot of your happy blanket against the white iron bed is perfect! Your blanket is shaping up so quickly. I can knit up one square (8") in one day and think I'm doing well ;) Although our calendar says it's nearing the end of summer, the weather is still HOT and today is muggy after storms rolled through here yesterday. Off to a park today to get the most out of these last days. Take care Ada, and enjoy your rest. Wendy x

  30. Helloo!! Loving your blanket, it is looking amazing, such a very colourful and happy looking blanket, I can see why it makes you so happy. There is nothing greater than nearing completion and by the sounds of it, it is just around the corner. It is so satisfying turning those gorgeous circles into squares and yes, it sure is magic! Your granny square blankie is looking fab too and I am sure you are going to be needing them both very soon. I have just returned home and our garden, with the exception of a few beds is looking rather glum too, its this change in season looming, but I feel rather excited about autumn, I have to add. Sending much love xoxo
