I feel like I've been neglecting you.....
You see.....I'm in IT again........
I'm in The Crochet Bubble.......
Lost in the Loveliness, the Colour, the Happiness.....
Meet my Happy Blanket, named because........it makes me happy!
Today I'm hoping to complete 24 squares, sew in the ends, then sew them together.
Then another 48 are needed....phew!
I don't mind, it's making me HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've started collecting Yarn (on the left) for my Winter Blanket, Rowan All Seasons Cotton! Pattern yet to be decided......
Yep, Very Happy!
Other news....the tent is up, in the garden.....yes I know, cheats camping! We didn't book a camping trip this year as I was feeling a bit 'delicate' and not sure I was up to the physicality of camping!
But we love our camping, so up in the garden it's gone and several sleepovers have been planned, the first was last night! I'm a bit blurry eyed this morning!
Mums and Daughters planned for later in the week....think wine might be involved, just to aid sleep you understand!!!
I tried to get up to date with your blogs last night, think I've caught up, I've not been able to comment on all of them but I've read about all the great things you've been up too!
My Etsy is still not restocked, this week is busy, in a lovely sort of way, so this may not happen now until the new term starts!
Bye for now.....just going back into the Bubble!
Ada :) xxx
Bubbles are Lovely! :) xxx
Gorgeous colours in your blanket.x
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't be more in it.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could be in the same bubble.
Unfortunately so many things to do, so little time.
I adore your plaid, the colours are exceptionnaly well matched and the whole of it gives a happy feeling indeed.
I SO would like to make something like it one day.
Can I find the pattern of the squares somewhere on your blog?
Have fun in the bubble!
Brigitte
Hi Brigitte, the pattern is from Jane Brocket book The Gentle Art of Knitting, it's also in Issue Two of Mollie Make Magazine....sorry I didn't reply earlier.....too busy in my Bubble! :) x
DeleteLovely post Ada ... just zinging with colour and happiness!
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better now
Claire xxx
Thanks Claire, I'm a lot better than I was earlier in the month....think the holidays have done me good! :) x
Deletelol that's fabulous! i wonder if tommy the tent will open on the drive? I may never have to do a soaked walk across fields again! You clever thing you! that blanket is delicious! x
ReplyDeleteYou never know Jane it might do......oh yes, those soggy fields! :) x
DeleteBubbles are lovely, I've been in an OCD stitchy mood for a few days now and have to remind myself I have kids and mustn't ignore them! Good luck with all that crochet you've set yourself to do today. I find that's the only problem with working on something you just love, you get all itchy to get it finished and see what it looks like even though you're enjoying the process of making it too. Daft isn't it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Hooking X
Don't worry my kids won't let me forget they are there! Yep, I enjoy both the process and end result....fab isn't it! :) x
DeleteHappy times. Cricket week for my son - so hopefully lots of crochet in the sun for me! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping by....fingers crossed! :) x
Deleteyour blanket makes me happy, too!
ReplyDeletexxxx Ale
Cheats camping sounds good to me, and you haven't got far to walk to the 'facilities'.
ReplyDeleteKeep enjoying your lovely crochet bubble. Your blanket looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe happy blanket is gorgeous Ada!! What a satisfying feeling getting all those tiny squares stitched together :) And that cushion cover sneaking into the photos is so pretty. Enjoy your mother-daughter sleepover-camp-thingy-WITH-wine!! Wendy x
ReplyDeleteYou are going wild with that blanket - it looks soooooo beautiful! And the main reason is that it is made with happiness and love in every stitch! Chrissie x PS when I first saw the tent photo, before reading about your camping, I honestly thought you had gone over the edge and erected a tent in your garden for a literal Crochet Bubble! Tee hee!
ReplyDeleteI like that idea Chrissie....not sure the girls will, I might try and hide in there tomorrow with my crochet! :) x
DeleteWow all that lovely crochet....you are an expert now!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your camping....
Daisy xxx

ReplyDeleteThe colors are so pretty. I think the crochet bubble is a lovely place to be!
ReplyDeleteYour always amaze me how quickly your crochet grows. It looks fantastic. Hope your camping is a success later in the week. There are lots of advantages of camping in the garden. Did you see they have been encouraging us to do that this year to discover what animals share how gardens with us. Did you discover any night visitors?
ReplyDeleteSarah x
Well we've discovered lots of slugs and some fighting cats so far! :) x
DeleteThat bubble you're in must be one of the most colourful out there!
ReplyDeleteHappy camping :)
Enjoy your bubble! Am sure it is making you very happy :)
ReplyDeletecrochet is coming along so well and so quickly too. Sewing the ends in is a tedious task. Happy camping, lets hope the rain keeps off as it is so noisy on a tent
ReplyDeleteThat's funny,,,my husband accused me a few days ago of being "in my own World" too much and not enough in The Real World (I forgot to take library books back yet again, the fines are now sky high)...I told him I love it too much in my own little bubble and that it's not my fault as it's genetic (I am frightfully similar to my very wonderful but very dippy paternal granny).
ReplyDeleteYour crochet is sublime, I LOVE how your blanket is turning out.
I am missing working on a blanket, but am mentally going through some plans to start one after Yarndale...still undecided on pattern and yarn, but that's part the fun!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Oh I forget everything Lucy! Not sure if its my age or that I get so wrapped up in what I'm doing! But it's my time and it makes me switch off which is just what I need! I've got a few ideas in mind for my winter blanket but need lots more yarn so need to keep saving!
DeleteI think a tent sounds great, memory making for Little Man....we made tents out of wooden clothes horse and blankets, most of our summers were spent in them! :) x
Meant to say.....when I was a child, I used to do garden campouts with my brother in a little two man tent, it was sooooo much fun. Sweet memories. We are thinking about putting a small tent next to our caravan so that Little Man can bring a couple friends to camp out with.
ReplyDeleteThey look wonderful - great colours!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty ... the colours are gorgeous ... Bee xx
ReplyDeleteI can imagine how much you enjoy your crochet bubble. Love the colours you choosed. Looks wunderful. Wish you a happy week.
ReplyDeleteMoni xx
may this crochet bubble last because this granny square project is just fabulous. i love those blankets with lots of white yarn and its my dream to be able to make my own :)
ReplyDeleteyour yarn stash is impressive!
Thanks for visiting Martha, the white works very well, if there's enough yarn I will make a cushion too. Go for it, make a blanket! :) x
DeleteOh Ada, love that you have been going nuts with your crochet hook. I have been picking mine up now and then and find it so calming amidst a world of chaos. Have been too busy to pop over and comment but did love your post on your girls weekend. You and your girls deserve such a lovely treat and so pleased that you have such supportive friends, that post made me teary with regards to the social challenges we face every day. mel x
ReplyDeleteYes, I think it's not easy for people to always get it, especially as our children look just like any other :) x
DeleteYour blanket is coming along so beautifully!! Have fun! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteI have to admit to loving a white edged granny square.
ReplyDeleteNina x
Just reading your post has made me happy - I have entered your little crochet bubble and it's blissful x
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely colours chosen! but I really like the pinks, blues and mauves of the cushion best. My husband used to camp in the garden with our son, he said it was always the worst nights sleep he'd ever had.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely way to describe what I call a crochet crush! The joy of being in the crochet bubble is wonderful! I love your new blanket, it is beautiful, Ada :) I like the idea of camping in the garden, that would suit me too!
ReplyDeleteHelen x
and what a lovely bubble to be caught up in xxx Hazel x
ReplyDeleteCrochet bubbles are indeed the loveliest of places - I hope to create one of my own later this year :) In the meantime, I am very much enjoying yours - I just adore this blanket you are creating xxx
ReplyDeleteLove your bubbles - are they easy to crochet? they are so pretty but I'm new to crochet so they would have to be idiot proof.
