My Name Is Amanda.....And I'm A W.I.P Addict.....

I think there may be many more of you out there, nodding in agreement, you understand, maybe you too are a WIP addict?

This week I finally finished the blanket I've made for my daughter.

Then as I was about to crochet the last row, I started not one, but two other crochet projects!!! TWO!

There really is no hope......and do you know something? I REALLY DON'T CARE! ;)

So how about you? Are you a WIP addict too? I like to think of myself as a Creative Butterfly....fluttering from one colourful project to another. As opposed to someone who bores easily, or is easily distracted.....has no stamina!

Back tomorrow when I will be continuing my 'Positive Thinking January', which I'm taking part in over on Instagram. I've popped my IG tag on my sidebar, should you wish to have a look.....this was no mean feat believe me, even with instructions!

I've also downloaded the Pinterest app on my iPad.....and I've been pinning away like a pro! I'm abea1129 should anyone be remotely interested in what I've been pinning! ;)

Thanks for popping by, and thanks to anyone who lets me know you've popped by....it's lovely to here from you!

Until tomorrow,

Amanda :) xxx

(Or Ada if you so wish!)

  1. I'd say that I was a WIP addict too ~ it's just taken me three years to make a blanket for my boy but there were a few little projects made along the way and a few more still to be finished. Love your daughters blanket ~ the colours remind me of the beach :O)xx

  2. Me too, I have a blanket I started yonks ago. I just cannot be bothered to finish it. Wouldn't be good if someone else could take on one of our unfinished projects, and put there spin on it and vice versa x

  4. Ditto. I have just finished a design for the magazine instead of tidying up all the ends I started ,like you , two more .Its ridiculous. But like you , I don't care. I enjoy having various project bags sat in my baskets and crochet cupboards, I have 6 floor to ceiling ones with doors thankfully. I love opening each bag to stare at the delightful balls on yarn that make my heart flutter. Yes, I know, I'm slightly batty about my crochet projects. I am a very unfaithful crafter. So with that ,my name is Helda and I am a WIP addict.

  5. Phew - not just me then! The trouble is that creative people just can't stop the ideas rising to the surface...! This year I've written a list of all my WIPs complete with dates started (years ago in some cases) to try and make sure I finish at least some of them as well as starting new ones! Thanks Amanda. 7. I try to control the WIP addiction - particularly at this time of year. I try and finish a few things before all the creative ideas in my mind just have to be started! x

  9. Creative butterfly sounds much better. I'm trying hard to put off making another cardigan until I have finished the one I am part way through. Then of course there are two quilts to finish before I start one for my son. It's nice to have something different to turn to though isn't it x

  11. Hi Amanda, yes I'm definitely a WIP addict and I like the idea of a creative butterfly. why is it that things for yourself always go to the bottom of the pile. I've challenged myself to have a me month this month. I have finished a couple of me things but with a couple of presents alongside so not doing too bad so far!!

  14. Hello Amanda, my name is Zana and I am a WIP addict...... My 12 step programme consists of finishing one WIP a month. So maybe in a few years time I'll get there! I have recently discovered your blog and I love it. Love the colours in your new WIPs. I do the same thing as well I started a couple of new projects too this week and I blame Pinterest! So much gorgeous stuff there, sigh.....

  15. WIP addict? I don't mean to have a WIP problem. It doesn't bother me but occasionally my head explodes and I feel a little overwhelmed and I have to finish at least one thing....so I start a small project so I can finish it quickly, but then it takes a little longer and I need more of that wool, cotton, thread, material.....and I see another thing that I like a lot so I will start planning that one.........help me!!! 😳

  17. I certainly am. And it gets bad when you have more things on the go than you could possibly finish in one life time! I have quilt tops, cushion covers, samplers..... oh the shameful list goes on. Unlike you Ada Bea dear, I DO feel badly about it. But only when I look at it. So I don't ! Lxxxx

  18. You know, I'm not much of a WIP'er myself. I find it hard to allow myself to have a lot of projects at once. I just feel unsettled. I do it more often than I used to, though, and I do think it's nice to have something fresh to work on when I get bored with one thing after awhile with it.
