And That Was February.......

Well Hello Lovely Peeps,

My goodness February went in a flash didn't it! It went differently to how I had in mind....and I'm so glad it did! Some of the things I thought I might achieve I haven't, as yet anyway. Our bedroom remains the same, we've bought the paint so that's a start....my Liberty Quilt ideas remain just that, but what a good month it's been!

I've continued to eat healthily this month, went a little awry on our holiday, eating fish and chips twice, TWICE! I've introduced a bit of bread into my diet too, I was missing it, but I will look for a healthier alternative to those wholemeal slices.
I'm sorry I didn't let you know each week how I'd been getting on....but this is an ongoing process, not just 28 days, so there will be future updates, as well as those book reviews I promised.
So how do I feel, well not hugely different, but I feel more empowered, I know I'm giving my body it's best chance at being healthy, and believe me, with a condition like MS, with no cure, HOPE is the best medicine!

This month has been great, FUN being a big part of it....our trip away was unplanned, and turned out fabulous, just what we needed.

I've spent some really lovely times with friends this month, I'm not sure what I would do without them!

I feel like it's a month where there's been a constant supply of flowers too....

So what about March? What will March bring I wonder? Yesterday I spent a little time in my garden. I really felt I needed to be in there, for healing. I've not really been in the garden for a long while, it shows too. I've decided I need to pour my love, my hopes and my dreams into her again. A little at a time. Very gently.

There's an article in this months Country Living, I hadn't noticed it until I was supping tea after my little gardening session yesterday, all about gardening and how it can heal the body and mind. Perhaps it was a sign?!

So March, well I'll be in the garden as the weather allows....and yes I will get the bedroom done.....I'll need somewhere calm to crash out in, wont I ;)

I must say, I'm really enjoying being back in this space again, and I'm really loving your comments, encouragement and support...thank you all so much!

Happy March Everyone!

Amanda :) xxx

  1. What a lovely positive post. Your flower photos are so pretty and the last one with the three flowers In a jug is super! Are they glass flowers. Good luck in getting more things done in March. Enjoy your gardening - yes it is therapeutic.

  3. You certainly had a good February with your friends and family! The tulips are so pretty. I hope you get out to enjoy your garden fully soon. We're getting more snow falling today, so gardening is still on hold ... maybe by July we'll be finished with winter ;)

  11. Gardening? I'm so jealous. The 2 feet of snow covering my favourite patches of earth are keeping ME out of the garden. Maybe in about 6 weeks the garden will emerge and I can have the same spring time joy as you!!

We've had lots of flowers in the house lately too. And I treated myself to Country Living magazine yesterday. That's my frivolity allowance gone for the month already!
I do hope your healthy eating helps you feel well.

  18. So glad you had a lovely month. I keep thinking about trying dietary changes for my lupus and fibro but I don't really know where to start. There are so many different diets and ideas. Maybe it is best just to try to eat extra healthily?!! I had a cholesterol test and fasting sugar bloods done today so I think I will see what they say and go from there. Dad had a massive stroke at 66 last year and sadly died the next day. He hadn't been ill for years and there was no warning but he did have slightly high cholesterol so I am a bit concerned what mine will be. My brother and sister's are both slightly high. (Just got a few chocs I was given for birthday to eat first!!!). Sharon. xx

    1. I know, KNOW, that by making dietary changes your condition will improve Sharon saying that, changes aren't easy. When I stopped eating dairy 5 years ago I went whole hog, no gentle moves towards.....straight in there, I knew I couldn't do it any other way, I loved cheese and chocolate too much! Start by introducing whole foods more, more fruit and veg too. The most important thing is to start, and inform yourself. Look at the evidence, it will empower and spire you on. Physical improvements may take time so it's important you believe in what you are doing! :) xxx

  19. What gorgeous colourful February photos you had. It's a real tonic to visit here. I'm interested in your healthy eating, I always feel a lot better when I'm not eating badly. I've given up sugar for Lent and already I feel better. I just need to avoid going back to it! CJ xx

  21. Sounds like you're right on track with the healthy living, I've been noticing all that needs doing out in the garden too, but I can only manage five minutes at a time so it'll be a long old job, wishing you a wonderful march.

    1. Me too Clare, it's frustrating when I think what I could do but I'm trying to concentrate on what I'm achieving and not what still needs doing. Bit at a time, trying not to do myself in through the process! ;) xxx
