Puppy Haze...

He's bounded into our lives, ears flapping in the breeze, like a little whirlwind.
He's the most adorable, loveable little dog.
He's noisy, he gets into EVERYTHING, never far from our feet.
He's soft and cuddly, warm and snugly.
He's a pooping and peeing machine.
He's only just learning that night-time is sleep time, and not barking time.
He's fascinated by our cat, it's not recipicated.
He's learnt to sit, especially when there are treats involved.
He's turned our lives upside down, and inside out.
He's Otto.

I think we can safely say, we are now a dog owning family. Whilst sat around the table this evening eating dinner, Otto decided to poop under it. And you know something, we were not totally grossed out by this fact! Yep, family with a dog...can handle anything.

THANK YOU SO MUCH, for your lovely comments on my last post, I've only just posted them, and I'm sorry I've not had time to answer them. It's been very busy, but no more busy than I thought. It's a bit like being landed with a full on toddler, who doesn't know us, so won't sleep at night, who's also being potty trained, and who's into everything! You'll notice most of the photos are of Otto sleeping, that's because he's too fast otherwise to get a good picture!

I hope I'm back soon!

Minnie spends most of her time here...so avoids the noisy youngster...very clever kitty! ;)

  1. I know just how you are feeling! Who thought that having poo on your floor would not be a major crisis, but just something to be dealt with! I'm sure you are all having fun, as we are with Basil. x

Gites and family got a puppy a couple of months ago and he is also into everything. She popped out one evening for ten minutes to pick Ruby up from Brownies, left Kodi in his cage. When they opened the front door Kodi greeted them with foil hanging from his mouth. He had managed to get out of his cage, into Sarah's bag and torn open a chocolate orange. Two worrying hours at the vets and a bill for £186 !!!!!So the moral of this story is keep Otto away from chocolate .

  6. Good Lord, he is absolutely adorable. Ten times ten adorable. I love his little feet and his eyebrows are so kissable. I do know what it is like to have a puppy, to have poop and wee and barking..and all that stuff. We have two Newfoundland dogs and I cannot keep up with the fall leaves, fir needles etc. that they bring in the house. Would I trade them? No. I'll bet he still has that delicious puppy breath too. Oh, he is so lucky to be in your house. Such love.
Thank you for sharing such a darling here.

Do hope Minnie is not feeling pushed oit, Sophie my daughter`s cat 17 took to the puppy very well and this year she seemed so frightened by the fireworks, which has not ha. Once Otto stops rushing around so much maybe they too will sleep together etc

  9. Otto is utterly ADORABLE!! What a little poppet! He will soon settle into your routine, you just find that you repeat yourselves a lot with puppies! I used to take Wilson outside every hour and say" do wee wees" he soon got the hang of it. Also have lots of chew toys around, he has never never chewed any furniture or anything.
Anyway happy puppy lovin Amanda xxx

  10. Poor cat, so her world is now apparently reduced to a chair in one room. Everyone seems to have the same dog in blog land recently, with people leaping on the trendy puppy wagon. I find it sad that these little dogs cute as they are, are taken into homes with happy cats who then have their lives turned upside down because they aren't seen as 'enough'. Cats are very territorial and like to feel safe in their homes. It's hard for them outside but inside the home is usually where their safe haven is, where they feel wanted and happy. Bringing in unwanted newcomers makes cats fearful and very upset. Next thing is they start weeing on the beds because they are so distressed about the new comer, and it is them that gets shouted at and then given away. Hopefully to someone who fully wants and appreciates them though and puts them first.

  14. He is just the cutest litttle thing. How could you get mad at him even if he does poop everywhere. I saw the most sweet, cute little puppy on Saturday. She had been abandoned and the ISPCA were looking for a home for her. I hate to think what had happened to her. She was not like a puppy should be. She didn't nibble at my fingers of lick me on the face, she just snuggled down into my arms and looked into my face. I totally fell in love with her and immediately wanted to bring her home and show her some real love. Sadly my husband didnt feel the same way and was adamant that she couldn't come to live with us. Well we do already have two cats and two dogs. I was heartbroken having to leave her behind. I can only hope that she got a good home.

Minnie is a wise kitty retreating to her chair. :)

  18. Oh my word, how exciting! You are the third blogger friend to recently get a puppy (Sandra at Cherry Heart and Jooles at Sew Sweet Violet are both welcoming puppies into their lives lately) and I am plain jealous. We've been skirting around this for months now and it never seems to be the "right" time. But I don't think there ever is a right time for a dog. Otto is completely gorgeous, just perfectly adorable. xx
