A Picture A Day...22

Big skies. One of the reasons we bought this house, was the big skies. We moved from a terrace house, surrounded by other terrace houses, so tightly packed together, that you only ever caught a small glimpse of sky.

When I first walked into our garden, with its elevated position, and saw just how much sky there was, I instantly fell in love. One of my first MS episodes, involved loosing most of my sight. I recovered, but my sight can still be affected if I become ill, too hot, or even stressed. Since then I have never taken my sight for granted.

This image was taken a few nights ago, it took my breath away. It's lovely to be able to sit in my garden, watch the sun go down, and take in the beauty of nature. Let's hope we get a few more this summer!

Hope you have beautiful sunsets too,

Amanda :) xxx

  1. Absolutely beautiful. I love sunsets to and do see some nice ones, one I especially remember years ago I was holidaying in France and sat by a stream to watch the sun go down, happy memories of a wonderful holiday and friends who are no longer here.
    Enjoy the day Amanda.

  2. Morning Amanda,
Lovely picture. We do get some lovely skies in the evenings. From the front of the house we can look over towards the Ashdown Forest which is about 11 miles away. Sometimes we watch cloud formations, so many different shapes pass by. The sun goes down to the right on the other side of the house but we can catch some of the orange colours.

  3. Beautiful. I am a bit obsessed with skies ~ photographing them, painting them, I even have sky and cloud apps ☺. Hughes Syndrome has messed with most of my body but only a bit with my eyes. On a bad day I just sit and watch the garden ~our sight is indeed precious.

  4. The immune system has a lot to answer for! So many lovely people just "coping" with different diseases/syndromes. I can tick your list of symptoms but luckily only double vision for my eyes. How brave you are.I wish you wonderful, beautiful sunsets forever. The sky always makes me tearful, I feel so humble. Enjoy a restful, sunny day. Love Paddi X

    1. The sky makes us realise the power of nature and how small we are in it. I do believe keeping stress levels manageable and eating a healthy diet can help restore your immune system, mine was definitely being very aggressive towards me, but then I was abusing my body by not looking after it, so I'm not surprised! Look after yourself Paddi :) xxx

  6. This sure is a wonderful view, from your garden. It must be lovely to see the sunset from your house. We can't see the suncet from our garden, a block of flats is blocking the views. But at least we get quite a lot of sun in our garden during the day.
    Love,
