Three months today, I pressed the publish button for the first time! Being the creator/ author of this blog is proving to be a fantastic, if somewhat surreal, experience!
I'm loving every minute of it, and do you know why? It's because of YOU! It's because of the Connections I make with you, you have all been so generous with your encouragement and advice. You've inspired my creativity, and in turn, well so you've told me, I've inspired you too!
On Saturday I made an actual 'real-life' connection with Sharon, from Modflowers. We live pretty close to one another, so met up in Nottingham City centre to go to the Pretty Dandy Flea Market, organised by the very energetic Becky!
The above two photos are Beckys creations!
We had a great time looking at all the vintage goodness, there are some very talented crafts people living and working in the Nottingham area!
Fuzzbucket designs.......
Eloise Renouf prints, swoon!
It was great to connect with Sharon, we found we had a lot in common, and although she is more advanced in her creativity than I am, I hope we can inspire each other in the future!
Another person I've connected with, albeit by email only, is Sherrie, from Muddle Puddle blog. Shes been a great encouragement to me and on Saturday I received a lovely parcel from her!
It was full of lovely stuff, things she had made or found with me in mind! Thank you Sherrie, it's a wonderful, thoughtful gift! My girls have already claimed the Canada souvenirs!
So Thank You, my dear Bloggy Friends, for your Connections!
Talking of connections, my follow list has grown much quicker than I could ever have imagined, I try very hard to pop over to new followers blogs to say Hi. I'm afraid I haven't always been able to do this quickly! Please leave me another message if I haven't visited you, and a will make sure I do!
Have a great, creative week everyone, and keep making those Connections, it's what helps this creative world keep spinning!
Ada :) x
I agree wholeheartedly with all you say Ada. You have given 100% back to blogging so you're really getting it back too. I've made some friendships through blogging too with some people I doubt I'll ever meet, but I wish I could as I know we'd get on fine if we were closer. I always worry that as I have little time to comment, only just manage to squeeze in the odd post these days, that people will think me rude, but you can only do so much can't you.
ReplyDeleteThe fleamarket you went to looked great, one of the best days out isn't it.
Have a good week.
Lisa X
Thank you Lisa, before when I was working full time I had very little time to comment let alone blog as well! I think you do very well!
DeleteIf I win big time on the lottery I arrange a big weekend out for us all, craft workshops, lots of lovely food, glass or two of wine, and of course I will pay for accommodation and travel! Now wouldn't that be good! Ada :) x
You're so right. Blogging is great for making connections and being inspired and encouraged. Thank you for all the lovely comments you've left on my blog. Having come back to blogging again after a break it's so lovely to be getting comments again. I did worry that no one would read my blog any more after such a long time so it's so nice to get new comments, specially as I know how busy people. It's hard finding time to blog and comment with my busy two year old to look after and another on the way but I couldn't be without the World of blogging. I just wish I could meet up with some of the lovely bloggers I've met on line. Love your lottery win suggestion of a huge crafty blog meet! Fiona x
ReplyDeleteI'm very glad you returned to blogging! It must be difficult though with such small children! Ada :)
DeleteHello Ada,
ReplyDeleteIts a lovely place on here, isn't it!!
Its a bit like having pen friends, but virtual ones...
I can truthfully say with a hand on my heart, that I was the most rubbishy person on a computer.
I had no interest or desire until I fell upon my first blog!! hehe.
I often think it would be lovely to meet up with some of my favourite bloggers and what wonderful chats we would have!
Anyways I feel you get back on here exactly as much as you put in soo keep on enjoying lovely you!
Love Maria x
Thank you Maria, I will! Ada :)
DeleteLove some of the makes the reindeer looks cute! Blogging can open so many doors either literally or just creatively. I sometimes think it can be a funny hobby but like you have connected with some amazing people!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely week.

No newbie like you! Ada :)
DeleteOh Ada, you're a great addition to blogsville - your rapidly growing list of followers is testament to that! I only started blogging in January and I really love it, it's so nice to have a place to put all the thoughts that used to just spin around my head, and amazingly gratifying that others take the time to read them and comment! If I'm ever over in your part of the world I'll definitely be arranging a meet up with you and Sharon, and if you're ever anywhere near Bristol make sure you let me know so we can meet up - there's so much vintage goodness here that I'd love to show you! xx
ReplyDeleteYou have some fantastic places to shop down there! Seen them in Mollie Makes! Ada :)
DeleteI'd love that! We should organise it some time!
DeleteHow right you are, Ada! I only started blogging recently too, and love making & cultivating new friendships and connections in the wonderful land of Blog. Wouldn't it just be sooo much fun to have one huge get-together? I'm holding thumbs for your lottery wine ;-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday,

Ooops, "win" even... although there could be wine involved too!!
DeleteI agree, the connections make it all worth while, the feeling of being part of a community of like-minded people is just fab. And your blog is great, I'm not surprised you've got loads of followers! x
ReplyDeleteLike you, I'm fairly new to blogging but I've been welcomed into the community with open arms and its lovely to share makes, thoughts and ideas with like minded folk.

All those goodies - I'm swooning - and is that a reindeer at the bottom...it looks positively gorgeous.

I have also found blogging has given me so much more than I ever imagined and I have also struggled to keep up as the numbers have increased. How nice to meet someone who lives close by and enjoy the flea market together. It looks as if there were so lovely things to buy!
ReplyDeleteSarah x
I've only been blogging for a very short time. And I love it! Wish we had a vintage fair near by. I would be there all the time xo
ReplyDeleteYou are very encouraging and positive yourself, it's always a pleasure to find one of your comments on my blog.
ReplyDeleteLoved the pics in your last post, especially your chest of drawers with your printers tray on top and that birdie tray from Ikea. Lovely.
Thank you so much! Ada :(
DeleteIt looks like a great fair, it is good to make these connections. I am involved in an advent swop this year and I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteMe too! Better get my thinking cap on! Ada :)
DeleteBlogging is so rewarding...I have connected with a few people too and it is always so much fun.
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet connections and creations!! Happy October Ada! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteBlogland is where you find friends you haven't met yet. I love blogging and your bright and cheery blog always brightens my day ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue, glad to brighten up your day! Ada :)
DeleteHappy 3 month anniversary, Ada! Yes, it's a great place for friendships and connections, this bloggy-space of ours, isn't it. I really enjoy being part of it. Having said that I have been a bit remiss of late....must get back to it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynne, you are partly responsible for all this you know! Ada :)
DeleteI totally agree..blogging is a wonderful way to meet some great and inspiring people. The Pretty Dandy flea market looks like it was fun, I really like the diamond/triangle patchwork cushion covers..just lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet parcel of goodies as well..I am guessing she is from Alberta then (I was born and raised there..I do miss it terribly!).
Have a lovely day today xx I always enjoy your posts :)
Magie x
It does look like a wonderful part of the world Magie! Ada :)
DeleteThe market looks great and the things there look to die for. I have to restrain myself from going to such events because I always come out totally broke. Just can't help myself! Your blog is beautiful and I'm amazed that you are only doing it three months. I've been up and running since May but still feel like such a novice at the whole thing! Any advice?
ReplyDeleteI was very restrained! I could have spent loads, easily! As for advice, I really don't know, just be yourself and blog about the things you love! Those who have similar interests will find you! There's so many blogs out there it might take them a little while! Keep going! Ada :)
DeleteLots of lovely things there - and it's great meeting up with other bloggers too!
ReplyDeletePomona x
we love you ada!!!!!!!!!!! xxx
ReplyDeleteBless you Kate! You hat made me chuckle! Ada :)
DeleteSo many lovely connections and inspirations....that's what's so great about blogging! Loved all your pictures today, especially the very last one with the wonderful creature....is it a reindeer?
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a lovely time and met up with some fellow bloggers too, Ada :)
Helen x
Well, apparently we started around the same time. What fun! I love your posts and try to read them every day. I've changed from email to Google Reader and it's giving me a much better place to find everyone and hopefully, stay caught up. So glad you got to meet up with a fellow blogger and spend some time with her. How great was that? Keep blogging, dear friend, and giving us great inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sharon
Gosh, only three months! It feels as if you've been part of 'the gang' for ever. And you've done marvels in this little bloggy space of yours and built a large and very well deserved following soooo quickly. Every good wish for all the many, many, many months I'm sure are still to come :D
ReplyDeleteI'm just catching up as I'm way behind with my blog reading.
ReplyDeleteI loved your orange post and remember the 70s well. It's funny how those Mandy stories were in black, white and orange isn't it?
Your hexie blanket is looking lovely.
How lovely to meet up with a fellow blogger, and at a flea market, you can't get much better than that!
I had a lovely time too! And let me know what your preferences are colour-wise for a fabric/wallpaper swap and I'll put you a little package together!
ReplyDeleteDear Ada, your little blog has grown by leaps and bounds. And I hope it will continue to do so and that you will keep blogging for a very long time.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the bit of recognition here. I had so much fun, making that parcel for you.
I've only just recently started reading your blog, but the fact that you are new to blogging, and so open & honest about bumbling through it, has inspired me to start my own space too. I rarely comment on anyone's blog, but you have a certain charm in the way you write that draws people in, and I'm definitely in that category. Thanks for sharing what you do!! Wendy
ReplyDeleteThank you Wendy for your kind comments! Ada :)
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely blog!!
Thanks! Ada
