We're back.
Love my home.
Love my garden.
Love my studio.
I've washed.
I've ironed.
I've picked sweet peas.
I've picked delicious kale.
I've given my tomatoes some smelly comfrey tea.
I've marvelled at my, first ever, hollyhocks.
I've washed some more.
I've ironed some more.
I've wrapped my cold feet in a yet to be finished blanket.
I've sat in my sunny garden and read.
Have I told you how much I love my home?
(Got a zillion photos of our holiday to edit, hopefully by the end of the week I shall have them ready to post them).
Now I need to hoover!
Back later,
Amanda :) xxx
Oh and I've done this...

ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon, will post as soon as I can :) xxx
DeleteGood to see you back, and so happy to be home. I've been enjoying a few home grown things today after a week away as well, delicious. I shall look forward to seeing your photos. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing just what grows in a week isn't it...always the first thing I do, pop outside and inspect the garden...well after I put the first load of washing in that is! ;) xxx
Deletewell you know the saying "there`s no place like home" certainly applies to you. Your garden is coming along beautifully and already producing veg all very nice. Like you I needed to wrap my feet up the other day, not sure what has happened to the summer it is certainly not happening here at the moment
ReplyDeleteI just love my home Margaret, love adventure too...but unfortunately my body doesn't feel the same way anymore! ;) xxx
DeleteGlad that you are enjoying home and being home and that you enjoyed away too I hope! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy, saw some lovely places :) xxx
DeleteI doesn't matter how lovely your holiday, it's funny how it's just nice to be back home isn't it?!
ReplyDeleteBack to the comfort and routine of your very own place x

So true Claire :) xxx
DeleteMuch as I'd love to escape to sunnier climes at the moment - it's been such a disappointingly cold, wet, windy summer - I'm quite excited that autumn's around the corner and I wouldn't miss that for anything.
ReplyDeleteComing home is always such a pleasure, isn't it? Cosy familiarity and knowing you don't have to travel any further.

I'm getting a bit autumnal too...crazy, it's only August! ;) xxx
DeleteWe are strange creatures, we so long to go away, enjoy being away but just love being back home. At least it behaved a bit for your time down here. Is it being away that affects your illness or just doing too much?
ReplyDeleteHi Alison, yes it picked up towards the end of the week, summer has been very inconsistent thi year hasn't it! I think it's probably doing too much, but my too much is really hardly anything! I try hard not to collapse whilst I'm away but it definately catches up with me when I get back. It's frustrating as I love travel, love new places but realising that perhaps there's a lot I can no longer do. My husband and I always planned to backpack around the world in our retirement...hmm, might need to rethink that one! ;) xxx
DeleteBliss.

Absolutely! ;) xxx
DeleteBut isn't that one of the great things about going away? To be away is exciting and adventurous and sharpens your senses. But to come home is truly to appreciate home. If you never went away, you would never have the delight of coming back. It's so good to have both!
ReplyDeleteYes, I think we do need to go away to truly appreciate our homes...well that's my excuse for sneaking in a few holidays anyway! ;) xxx
