And My Heart Skipped A Beat......

Sometimes things just jump out at you don't they? Your heart skips a beat, and you know you need THAT thing! (this happens a lot to me in Blogland!).

When I saw this in this months Country Living, I just knew I needed to have a go, so these...

Have been stripped to these....

Not quite right I know, Sarah Moore is a clever lady, she understands my dilemma, she writes, and I quote:

'This is not an instant project, as finding the perfect reclaimed shade takes time, but the results last for years.' Thank you Sarah, just what I needed to hear!! It might be one of those Christmas trees that starts small, but grows each year!

I will look out for some more, namely a drum shade for the trunk! I think covered with ribbons of these...

And these...

Some little baubles, wool Pompoms, and other such delights it will look great! (I hope!). The ladies in the charity shops thought I was bonkers when I said what I needed them for....they will have a good laugh over their cuppa, can you remember that mad woman who wanted lampshades to make into a Christmas tree?!

This week, the very kind Mrs H sent me some lovely bits of felt...

Maybe I can make some little decorations to go on my tree?!
Thank you Mrs H, a little parcel of thanks will find its way to you soon!

Thank you all SO MUCH for you support on yesterdays post. You are all so kind and thoughtful and I really do appreciate you taking the time, to leave your thoughts, experiences and comments. However I feel I need just to say, I'm just a very ordinary person, trying to do her best with the challenges she faces. There are many people with much harder challenges, there are those with less.
I'm not always patient, ask Mr Bea and my girls, they will tell you! I can be as grumpy and as miserable as the next person, I'm not always kind and thoughtful, I try hard not to be judgemental, but can be at times.

One thing I am is compassionate and caring, I have empathy by the bucket load, taught to me by my Mum. She always asked me to walk in another's shoes before I made up my mind about them, (very irritating as a teenager!).

I will be back next week, this weekend I'm being treated by a very good friend to a little bit of indulgence, to just be.....me! I can't wait!

Welcome to all those who have chosen to press the follow button, there will soon be 200 of you! I feel a little giveaway is in order, just to celebrate!

Have a very good week, Crafting, Creating, and Christmas Making! (note to self, start to buy Christmas pressies, start to make Christmas pressies!).

Ada :) x

  10. Loving the lampshade tree. I think it would be a step too far for Hubbie though. We've actually only been together four and a half years as we met quite late and got married and had little F pretty quickly, so I'm still 'working on him' as regards all things pretty, vintage and lovely. He's getting there slowly but I still have to introduce certain things very slowly. Hope you have a great weekend. Wouldn't mind a weekend to 'just be me' myself. Who knows, my weekend may involve a lot of hard work! Anyway, you enjoy yourself. Fiona x
