Changes......

Lot of changes are happening in the Bea household....these chairs are just the start.

Overall I'm really happy with them, there may be one other thing I want to do to them, but that involves a trip to the shops, so will have to wait a little while!

My neighbour thinks I'm a little crazy, after all who else drags their chairs outside to photo! He gave me a little puzzled look and I just smiled and waved...

I've also got around to painting this old chair I picked up for a few pounds last summer. It was a horrible dirty dark pink colour, no one else would sit on it, except me of course, but then again......I am a little crazy!

Yes it still looks a little battered, eventually I will make a little cover for the seat, hide those awful staple marks! Little Bea wants to know if I'm going to paint everything this colour....I might just do that!

Yep, overall I'm pleased with my little purchase, each chair came to the grand total of £8.50!

I'm in a 'sorting out' mood, too much clutter! I'm wanting to clear out and refresh. Create a calm, colourful home. This is the start.

Want to see my next project?

When we were in Derbyshire, I fell in love with an old shop counter cabinet, it had been used for cakes, it had some beautiful etching on the glass. At £250 it was out of my budget!

Several months ago I was given this lovely little cabinet. At some point in the past, it's been cobbled together buy some DIY enthusiast!

Look at the bottom...it's been made out of an old wooden crate! I think it will look great painted up, lined with some of my vintage wallpaper. Great place to put your fat quarters! I'm also desperate to complete another printers tray, my home isn't the same without one!!!

Thank you so much for all your comments on my last post, I'm sorry I've not had chance to respond to them yet, I'll read through them again later and answer any questions!

What's your next project? Is anyone else in the revamping, redecorating, clearing out mood?

Bye for now Everyone!
Happy crafting, creating, clearing and cleaning!!!
Happy Changes......

Ada :) x

Etsy news....I will be opening my shop over the next few days!

  4. Beautiful - and don't they look gorgeous at the kitchen table - is it always that tidy?! My neighbour saw me balancing a spacehopper on a large plant pot yesterday to take a shot, what's more I was getting quite cross with it and telling it to behave - no questions were asked, just a knowing 'hello' and she was off. 7. Those chairs look beautiful, well done. My neighbours all think I'm crazy too so don't worry! I'm the only one with a wooden door in my street (everyone else has white uPVC) and I paint it a different colour every couple of years. But I now need a new door as it has a bit of a hole in it that is unrepairable. So my next interiors job is a new front door and then deciding which colour to go for. At the moment I'm swinging towards a minty green. x

  8. I bought a bread box at the thrift store the other day. I'll clean, sand, and oil it up and have a new place to store bread. I know what you mean about the neighbors. I take pictures of my feet in the grass when I finish a new pair of socks. I know they all think I'm crazy but that's OK! Enjoy life!

  11. Your chairs look fantastic and a complete bargain at £8.50 each. Far better than buying new expensive ones and they're personal to you. Your neighbour was probably just jealous of your fabric ;) Looking forward to seeing what you do with the cabinet.

I have a dresser unit which I've been meaning to paint for the last two years. Although I finally bought paint a couple of months ago. It WILL get done this summer.

I'm in the process of creating/redecorating one of our guest rooms - it's a slow one, but fun nonetheless.

  34. The chairs came up AMAZING!! Great job on them. Do you spray paint them, or paint them with a brush? We had an all wood table & chairs too and after we painted the chairs, we painted just the legs & 'skirt' on the table, leaving the table top unpainted wood. It looked great and ties the table and chairs together really well ... just an idea ;) Your other chair looks charming too, and I like that idea of rickrack along the edge, it would look so cute! Can I tell you from over here in Aus, I am so jealous of your Loyd Loom chairs if we could get them here they cost a whole lotta money.
The "repurposing" and " up cycling" are very inspiring.......me thinks I may be doing the chair thing one day soon myself.
Thanks for sharing and your blog, I love it all.

Gosh you do have some kind of busy bee spring thing going on don't you. i myself am getting acquainted with lots of boxes and have people traipsing into my house to pick up things they have bought on ebay almost daily, it is such a good feeling to be culling and clearing. And my neighbours are quite used to me out in the garden hanging things from trees to photographed! mel x

  47. Great chairs, what a transformation.
I've had lots of work deadlines recently, and a flu bug that won't quite go away, so haven't been able to do any crafting recently, but I'm hoping to get busy in the next two days. I've got a vintage suitcase half covered in squares that needs finishing, and a tiny glass cabinet to transform, too. It's a smokers' cabinet apparently, and has a little row of holders for cigars. The photos of your cabinet has inspired me to get cracking on it....lovely post, thank you.
