Making Me Happy.......

Celebrating 26 years of marriage, I've loved Mr Bea for almost 30 years....goodness me, I'm making myself feel old! Some highs and lows in all that, marriages aren't all plain sailing, but we can still make each other laugh!

YOU! I've been a little, (well actually a lot) overwhelmed by your response to my chair makeover!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, the support, encouragement and virtual love shared here is AMAZING....thank you all so much! Mr Beas response was to say you've only painted some chairs....bless him, even after living with me all these years, he still just doesn't get how excited painted chairs can make us!

He did say however, he thought I was crazy when I dragged them in from the charity shop, (he's got no vision!) but he actually quite likes them now!

Changing my little display, but not quite ready to let go off those eggs just yet.....I'm hoping that there will be a lovely, colourful Printers Tray on there soon!

Space Making! As you know we have been clearing out 'stuff' this week, three car loads to the charity shop....so much 'stuff'!

The girls have cleared out unwanted toys, freeing up space in their bedrooms, meaning the toys that were in the conservatory, are now in their rooms. Result!
For the first time in nine years this space is not filled with toys....it's MY SPACE! Yay! Of course, children and husbands are welcome in here too, as long as they don't make too much noise and mess!
I think the settee is crying out for one of those delightful crocheted blankets....that however may take another nine years!

I've LOVED these Easter holidays....we have mainly been an indoors Easter, it's still so cold here, although warmer weather is on its way......apparently! Relaxed, chilled.......happy.

Oh, and I'm cooking up more plans......

They involve a small suitcase, vintage loveliness....and a small cat....

A Dottie Angel inspired plan....I'm not too sure the cat approves, and of course I need to work out how to stop the lid shutting....actually, that might not be a bad idea.....especially at 3am when she's scratching at the door asking to go out (the chirping birds are driving her crazy!)......I jest....of course!

Thank you for visiting, thank you for taking the time to leave me your thoughts....welcome to all those of you who are new to Vintage Sheet Addict, hope you will come back again!

Have a great weekend you lovely people, hope the sun shines for you!

Ada :) x

Oh...and I'm a little happier with my suitcase now too.....

Here's some pictures to make you Happy Too!

  9. Congratulations on your wedding anniversary! And congratulations on doing such a wonderful job on your chairs and suitcase. I still haven't had time to cover any of my vintage cases yet but I keep buying them when I see a good one. I have a whole stack of them now, all stuffed full of vintage fabrics. Ever since my children saw a picture of Dottie Angel's Little Olive snuggled up in her suitcase bed they have been asking me to make them for our cat and dog. I'll get round to it one day! Love, Mrs RV x

You have my sheets that I had when I was first married, they were a wedding present. They are the yellows orange flowered ones, I believe they were from M & S but I could be wrong. 32. Congratulations on your anniversary!! 30 years together is worth celebrating :) I LOVE your new place in the conservatory ... I still share all my spaces with everyone else and can't wait to have a whole room to myself and my crafting! That sofa is a blank canvas for your new found love of crochet ... pillows! blankets! You'll hate to hear that I tossed quite a few old suitcases (and steamer trunks) out of the house from my parents. I really wanted to try something with them, but after keeping them for a good year, the awful smell of them still had not diminished, and I had no choice :( I did keep my mom's little bathroom case which is holding spare soaps in the bathroom, but it needs a redo somehow ... have a great weekend Ada! Wendy :)
