Ada Bea- Vintage Sheet Addict.....

Hello my name is Ada Bea.....and I'm a Vintage Sheet Addict!

I've been an addict for a few years now.....

You could say I've built my blog around my addiction!

I brought my first sheet, from a charity shop a good few years ago, Little Bea was quite young, it was pink and I thought I'll make her something with it. (Eldest Bea at the age of six, woke up and declared she didn't like pink anymore. She had a wardrobe full of pink...oh dear! So I knew I couldn't make her anything!)

I hadn't sewn for years, didn't have a sewing machine at the time, too busy working hard, looking after my Mum, two young children, ignoring the fact my health was sliding....needless to say the sheet stayed in the cupboard.

Occasionally I would get it out, think how beautiful it was, wish I had the time and energy to sew again. (Had done lots of sewing when I was younger!)

Anyway, more sheets found their way into my cupboard, usually charity shop/car boot finds, the odd one given to me by people who new I loved them.

I then started to read blogs, and was amazed to find these lovely sheets popping up, others loved them too! So I read the blogs, kept looking at my sheets and when my life changed, I started to sew.

I'm not sure I would ever have sewn if my life hadn't changed. I'm not sure I'd have made the time. If you're reading this and you don't sew but just like the idea, please give it ago! Being crafty really is good for the soul....and you can make such lovely, lovely things......

How can you NOT smile when you see a Vintage Sheet?

It's lovely to have a home filled with Vintage Sheets.....

Don't you think?!!!

I was pondering on this as I washed and folded my latest additions, yes ALL these from the lovely Debs on Saturday. Debs used to have a blog Two Bones and a Bagel but is now on Facebook....Once Was! (Sorry not sure how to do link on this one!)

Anyway, I've decided I really do have too many, I LOVE them, but I have too many. If I had an endless purse and a room of my own, to put them in, then I could keep collecting, but I don't, so I can't.

So, this is what I'm doing.....

Chopping up.....and putting half my stash on Etsy. I'm NOT buying anymore, until my stash has reduced. I do have one exception though, I'm allowed to buy any that I see in charity shops, these come up so rarely now so it's unlikely to happen anyway!

So there will be lots of sheets for sale....I'll make up some more FQ bundles and I've lots of little bits, perhaps some scrap packs too!

Yep, I'm Ada Bea......I'm a Vintage Sheet Addict....and I LOVE being one!!!

:) xxx

Oh yes, and there's the matter of the Wallpaper Addiction too...but that's a whole other story, perhaps next time!!! :) x

  13. I was watching one of those Sarah Beeny/Phil Spencer how-to-sell-your-home type tv programmes a couple of weeks ago and in a couple's spare bedroom they had two single beds with fantastic vintage purple bedding sets. The presenter was saying how they would have to get rid of the awful bedding for something plainer and more modern and I was thinking "nooooooooooooooooo! They're amazing!"
