Christmas has come early this year......I'm one very excited Ada Bea!
One delicious parcel arrived this week......
I've been walking around with a grin on my face!
Wools Warehouse were having a sale.....
I couldn't resist! Thank you to everyone who's brought a little vintage wallpaper in my sale this week.....it means I've been able to indulge!
The colours are just fabulous and from 90p a ball....think I might need a few more, some lighter colours are missing!!!
I've got a little project in mind....it will needs lots of flowers, this is my attempt this morning, lots more practice needed! I'm not even sure what I have in mind can be done, but I'm going to give it a go, I'll let you know how I'm getting on!
I've had lots of interest in the granny squares I've been making. The pattern is from issue two of Mollie Makes, I don't think I can show you because of copy rights but its an easy one to follow, otherwise I wouldn't be doing it! It a pattern from Jane Brocket.
Think I've made about 1/4 of the squares I need.....
I've also been devouring this, I've also been looking through all my old issues of Mollie Makes, looking at what I can make, well eventually, when I learn how to follow a pattern....I'm still struggling with that one! Oh and the tension!
Now....just need to find a place to store it, but of course I've got to be able to see it, so I can droooooooool over it!
I've been thinking about the irony of life this morning, as I was trying to make my flower, no wonder I kept having to unravel it!
Irony One: parenting children isn't always easy, parenting a child who's extra special can be more of a challenge, and requires extra energy and patience. Parenting a child who's extra special, when you have a condition which makes you feel exhausted a lot of the time, just seems well....very ironic!!!
Irony Two: why, despite being very careful, when you remove a white wash from the washer, there's always a black sock in there!
Thank you everyone who's entered the giveaway! Thank you to everyone who's leaving messages and comments, lots of you are new here, "Hello and Welcome"!
And Thank You for all the 'mentions' I've been getting on your blogs! You really are a great bunch, and you are definitely helping me get through them 'difficult' bits!
Bye for now.....have a super weekend!
Ada :) xxx
Etsy News.....
Wallpaper sale continues for a few more days....and I've listed some more of the lovely Marks and Spencer Pink wallpaper! It's in my Brights Vintage Wallpaper packs....only 2 listed!

Will do my dear, when my family think I've gone mad I will tell them Annette told me to fondle the yarn! :) x
DeleteI didn't know about the Wool Warehouse sale - but I do now! With your wallpaper sale and the yarn sale my account will be somewhat depleted by the end of the weekend. I shall be looking out for that roll of blue paper, I love it! I have that book too, nearly ready to reveal what I have been making from it along with my completed printer's tray. Hope the home situation becomes less stressful, the end of term often gets difficult I find. Love Mrs RV x
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you make...we are 'helping' each other with our addictions! :) x
DeleteWhat a lovely parcel. Have fun. I'm sure you will.
ReplyDeleteRe black socks - I have been married almost 25 years and my husband still insists on wrapping his socks in his white/ pale work shirts. I've lost count of how many times one hides there after I think I've shaken everything free!
Happy crocheting. X
My husband does the exact same thing ... so annoying :)
DeleteMr Bea wore pink jeans for a while when we first got married- and he never complained....think he might now! :) x
DeleteWow! You bought a rainbow!!
ReplyDeleteI was keeping some of my yarn where I could see it ... behind a closed door with a glass upper section. And then the darn moth got it ... I'm going to have to stow all my yarn away I fear.
I'm a bit worried about those moths now, I've definitely got something eating my clothes! :) x
DeleteGorgeous yarn stash, have fun with flowers. x
ReplyDeleteOh your new yarn is so gorgeous! Looking forward to seeing what you make with it.
ReplyDeleteM x

ReplyDeletexx
Yep....done that too! :) x

ReplyDeleteAwesome yarn, awesome mum. Awesome!
Watch the drool though, don't want to felt it just yet.....:-)
Now there's a thought! :) x
DeleteI could swoon over that yarns pile all day! In a bit of a winter slump over here so lovely to see all the summer colour and energy at your place. And completely get all the irony in you comments. I sometimes think that due to genetics and temperament so many other parents would be better suited to raising our complicated child but we do the best we can with what we have. Mel x
ReplyDeleteJust wish I had more energy! Glad I'm bringing you so summer sunshine (even if it is only in pictures!) :) x
DeleteOh my what beautiful colours....what fun you will have.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous yarn!! It's nice how everything fell into place for you there when you were needing more yarn ... little things are so worth celebrating ;) Wendy x
ReplyDeleteI know I've been very 'lucky' just lately! :) x
Deleteyou have a wonderful collection now of wool. I love how your flowers are not just one colour, must try and do one myself, so far stuck to just one colour and not 3D like you.
ReplyDeleteooo look at that scrummy rainbow gorgeousness!!!!! xxxxx
ReplyDeleteSometimes it would be nice to just have a week of making things with NO interruptions. My husband likes to ski so he goes and does it. If I like to make maybe the same rule should apply! I love your flower squares. Is Molly Makes a magazine or blog?
ReplyDeleteYes Annie, you take yourself off somewhere and create away to your hearts content I think you deserve it after everything you've coped with! Mollie Makes is a monthly magazine, I'm surprised you haven't seen it on our Brit Blogs....I'll pop a picture of some on one of my posts! :) x
DeleteIt looks absolutely amazing, I MUST make a granny square blanket one day :-)
ReplyDeleteLook at it all!!! Fantabulous. I have visions of you whittling away the hours messing around with colour combos....decisions decisions. Enjoy x
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat! Can't wait to see what you make with it all! Sue x
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue, I'm going to learn the art of flower making, carry on with my blanket....I really do need to learn how to keep a straight edge! :) x
DeleteYou can't possibly need more yarn righ?! I completely get it and loving your new stash, wow, I can just see all the opportunities unfold in front of me. I think it is fair to say that you are hooked! Enjoy your weekend and hope you are not still struggling with the balance issues in this heat. Xoxo
ReplyDeleteI've got enough to last me a whole year, not sure that will stop me though!!! :) x
