Well, My Lovelies, I'm back.........what a wonderful few days I've had!
I've fallen in love with Florence, it's got under my skin, it seeped into my pores, and settled into my heart.......what a beautiful city!
Everything was perfect, and I wouldn't change a thing!
I felt like I had been there before, it was like meeting a old friend, one that takes you in their embrace.....who doesn't let you go!
I spent most of my time being amazed by her history, her beauty and charm....
Time was spent just soaking in the atmosphere, not having a set agenda, wandering off the beaten track.......
Discovering little gems to eat, drink and watch the world go by.......
Trying to take in the details, locking those memories away.......
The architecture, the history, the sights, the smells, the tastes.....
Watching the wonderful sunsets over the river, turning the city to gold.....
One day I hope to return!
Ciao........(off for another little nap under my crocheted blanket! All this fun is exhausting!)
Back soon!!!
Ada :) xxx

ReplyDeleteI know JUST what you mean, Ada, I feel like that about Italy in general - my spiritual home, I always say! On reflection, I think I just preferred Sienna to Florence - it was less touristy and more secret I felt. And San Gimiano - oh!

ReplyDeleteI am so pleased to hear that you had a wonderful time. It is impossible for Firenze not to get under your skin, it is such a beautiful city and there is so much to see. You were so lucky to have more than a day as we only really spent 5 hours there and with small kids that's enough, but I could have happily spent a week there to enjoy all the sites, museums, galleries, etc. I have so enjoyed seeing you pics. I am doing my post soon (it's half taking me time, but hey ho!). You must still be on a high! Happy week to you lovely xoxo
