Hello September......

Hello September, welcome, it's been a while since I've seen you, I think about a year.....

I have to admit, I haven't been too excited to see you, please don't take it personally......it's just I enjoyed July and August so much! Anyway whilst you're here, pull up a chair and I'll pop the kettle on, we could have a little chat!

We could talk about the amazing light and shadows you bring with you.....

Or we could talk about the opportunities you will be bringing this year......

Time to finish of this little beauty, before October and November sneak in with their cooler temperatures......

And my kitchen/dining room revamp, which (fingers crossed!) should start this Thursday.....I'm very, very excited about this one September, but I know October will have knocked on the door and you will be long gone before its finished!

And of course, there's the changes you will bring to my garden which is now getting sleepy, I know she's getting ready for her sleep. I'm really looking forward to watching the sedum turn to scarlet, and the Autumn leaves, in all their splendour!

Now this one takes all these changes in her stride, I'm hoping the cooler nights will mean she will stay in curled up in her little suitcase, where I know she's safe, instead of roaming the night streets. But she's a cat, so she'll please herself!

Yes September, I'm ready for you!

What changes are you looking forward too?

Bye for now,

Ada :) xxx

  7. I think your mood matches mine for September - the light is wonderful. I keep exclaiming "look how the light catches this". I think it would be fair to say hubby and son don't share my enthusiasm.
My garden is starting to get ready for "bed" I enjoy cutting things back for the last time, and just leaving a few bits which catch the frost and light through winter (the sedum is one of my favourites) and then putting a final mulch over the ground in November. Ready to start the cycle again in Spring. All very reassuring.
Hope you've had a good weekend. Lots of rugby here - so it must be Autumn! x

  8. I've been drooling over your beautiful grannies - and Gillian's too - and I've been meaning to learn to crochet for so long.. Enough procrastinating, I've just booked myself onto a crochet class! I'm sure I could probably teach myself with books and youtube videos but I think a class will give me the kickstart I need to get started! I'm sure I'll quickly become addicted to granny squares and granny stripes!!

  13. Your blankets are amazing Ada - a very productive summer! I do love the seasons - autumn and spring are my faves - looking forward to all those pretty leaves! But I'm mostly looking forward to finishing work in October - I've finally decided to put my health first and take a career break for 6 months or so and properly rest and have a think about what next. Exciting and terrifying too! xxx

  14. Some lovely images Ada and your granny stripe is looking wonderful. Another blanket you are whizzing through! I have spent all day today in the garden and the nip in the air and the call of autumn is most certainly present and I am feeling rather excited about it all. I am also looking forward to my sedum coming into flower, but what I am most looking forward to is the change of colour all around and our first fire with my blanket warming my toes. Your kitchen, wow, that must be exciting. I know how I felt when we did our last year January, we knocked a wall through. What are you doing? Wishes for a very happy week xoxo

  22. Ada, you are a crochet fiend! It only seems like 5 minutes ago that you learned to crochet and now you are producing beautiful blankets one after the other. You obviously have a good eye for colour, I spend more time dithering over the right colours to use than I do crocheting. Love, Mrs RV x

  28. I love getting back to our routine if I'm honest Ada. It suits me the best. I love the early morning starts with the kids. Making their porridge while the get dressed and them sitting down together and chatting before the school day starts once more. Plus I always have that little more time to craft which I'm always grateful for.
Your stripy blanket is looking gorgeous by the way bi love your choice of colours.
