Bit Of This.....And That!

Well Hello!

I can't believe we are well into February already, our January was whirl of paint and paintbrushes! There are still bits and bobs to finish, I'm thinking of drawing up a snagging list, otherwise we won't get things finished!

Do you have this problem, almost finish a room, but there's always something that you never get around to sorting.....bit of skirting that needs painting, mirror that needs hanging!

Anyway, yesterday I was determined to complete something....so out came the Vintage Wallpaper.....

And out came the glue, just your average PVA glue, not the more expensive Modgey stuff......

And Lionel got a makeover.....it think he's OK with it, although a tin of baked beans was throw out of him yesterday, so perhaps not!

All the family approved.....I'm thinking of just adding a teeny, tiny Pom Pom garland, but it might take me a while!l

This week I've also managed a bit of hooky time in the conservatory, whilst the sun was shining, have you noticed how the days are getting a little lighter, the birds are waking a little earlier? I have, and I'm happy!

Sometimes I just spread this out on the table.....I'm about a third of the way through, wonder when this will get finished?

I've also opened up my Etsy shop again. Now I was thinking of closing permanently but I've had lots of emails, so I'm opening it up again, but just for a short while. So I will add more FQs as and when, drop me a line if you have any particular requests, and I will try and help if I can.

Oh, and I'm really enjoying drinking freshly brewed coffee, I've treated myself to a new mug.......although these are getting a tad too expensive so I might have finished with the CK mugs, unless of course they are in the sales!

Thank you as always for your support, I'm trying to keep on top of replying to your comments....not always doing a good job though.....I start well, but don't always finish. Hmmm.....that sounds familiar.....

Bye For Now,

Ada :) xxx

Isn't it great that the days are a little longer - and the bird song here is glorious. Now - if only the rain would stop!! x

  12. Lionel is looking lovely! He should not be throwing beans at you after the lovely makeover that he just received. How rude of him! Your squares look great too, and I have definitely noticed that the days are getting a little longer, not noticed the birds yet, but I must pay more attention! I like your new mug, but I agree they are getting expensive! Hope that you are having a good week. xx

  17. Love the wallpaper art, great colours and your squares are too. All houses are a work in progress as each room you finish makes the oldest one look bad!

  20. your wallpaper looks great on the door, good idea there. Crochet coming along well, it will be good to wrap around your knees when it is cold, not that it has been this winter.

  21. Lionel is looking lovely. But I'm thinking, given his gender, a pom pom garland, or a bow-tie? ;D

  23. Hi Ada. Have just discovered your lovely blog and laughed when I saw its title. My late mother-in-law was always trying to offload her '70s flowery sheets onto me because she couldn't bear to throw anything out. You will probably physically recoil in horror but I use them for dust sheets when I am painting.

Love your wonderful crochet blankets. I have always crocheted but could never follow a pattern but recently managed to suss it out and have just completed a little '60s style cardi with 3/4 length sleeves (Woman's Weekly Knitting & Crochet Mag).

    Best wishes from Carol

Gorgeous crochet, so colourful, and there is so much pretty colour in your home - perfect for these wet days we're still having.
    Have a good weekend Ada!

  27. I know exactly what you mean about not "quite" finishing a room. It always happens here! In fact I still have some painters tape around the railing supports in the basement waiting for me to paint said supports. I must get it done before my daughter comes home on the weekend and nags me about it ;) ... and she will!! Love the makeover of Lionel, and yes! definitely a little garland of something in the pom pom sphere would be adorable. Our evenings are light until 5:30 now!! Who knows, we might even have to get patio furniture out soon? here's hoping! Wendy x
