Well it's half term here, and so far it's been very busy...
We've had a trip to London, just Little Bea, her dad and me, it felt very odd just being 3 and not 4, but as children get older, they don't always want to go with their parents!
We visited the Galleries, which are just amazing, I love that we are able to view such brilliant art work for free! We had a wonder through Hyde Park, a visit to Liberty...oh and New Look, of all places, to buy Little Bea some birthday clothes. Yes, clothes are preferred above all things at the moment, I'm not quite sure when that happened!
Later in the week we've got birthday celebrations, in the form of pizza, 'Just Dance' and sleepovers...I'm embracing the changes, they are both growing up so fast. There's no reverse button, and as much as I'd like a pause one, that's not going to happen...so I'm watching as two young women emerge, with minds of their own, and all I can hope for is that they will be happy and independent.
The garden plans are moving on, in fact any spare energy I have, is being poured into them, leaving very little for any other creativity. However, a lovely little bundle arrived from Jodie today, thank you Sweetheart...they are beautiful! I think Vintage Sheets are the happiest of fabrics, they always make me smile!
I've got a few blogposts mulling around in my head, but not the time this week to post them, hopefully after half term I can find my rhythm again. There's exciting plans and developments happening here, which I'm hoping will allow me to be more creative again...in the 'making' sense, not just in the garden!
Back soon, thank you for popping by, and thank you so much for letting me know you've been!
Amanda :) xxx

ReplyDeleteThey weather hasn't been too bad actually, just wish it would warm up a touch! :) xxx
DeleteI really understand your maternal feelings ….. lovely idea the pause button, but sometimes I would love again to hug my very little ones…. miss them so much, even though it's a splendid adventure watching them becoming young adults….

Oh yes Ale, those lovely squishy baby moments, but this is the way it should be, the way of life! (I've told them they've got to live somewhere nice so I can have fab holidays!) ;) xxx
DeleteIt sounds as though you have had a great time! Your garden looks fabulous, so much growing. It is far better than ours is. I look forward to your creative blog posts, all sounds very exciting!! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy, we did, I love London, very tiring but enjoyable :) xxx
DeleteGorgeous photos, it looks like you had a wonderful trip to London. The garden is looking beautiful, well worth all the effort. Enjoy the rest of the week. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteThanks CJ...birthday celebrations to organise, I love birthdays so don't mind one little bit! :) xxx
DeleteI miss my little babies too, and it's been a rocky road through the teen years for my son (sigh). Sometimes I want to fast forward to see that everything will work out! But then, like you, I don't want to miss a thing either. It was a sad time when my daughter no longer came on family holidays with us, but my son assures us he'll never stop ;) I'm glad to hear that you've made the most of your half-term holidays. A trip to London sounds amazing ... never take for granted that you live in a beautiful and such an interesting country!! I hope the rest of your week is a blast.

They say we lose them for a while don't they, it's hard as you don't really have any control over their views...just have to take deep breaths and hope they manage to work things out ok! The UK is an amazing place to live...it would be perfect if we had proper summers!!! ;) xxx
DeleteBeautiful flowers Amanda, it is always delightful to visit a florist to see all of the flowers on display and take in their lovely fragrances.
ReplyDeleteYour bundle of fabrics looks wonderful, so many great colours and designs.
Our babies grow up too quickly, mine are all adults now and thankfully we are still close and good friends. Life would not be the same without them.
Happy gardening and sewing!
xoxoxo ♡
I've always fancied being a florist, they work very hard...not sure I could cope with the cold now though! ;) xxx
Deletebirthday wishes from me, is little bea a teenager yet? Garden looks great, see all your pics on instagram, love the old bath but I would be tempted to have a pond in it.
ReplyDeleteNo not yet, but becoming one fast...two years away! It's interesting to see how her ideas are changing though. Hope all is well over at yours Margaret :) xxx
DeleteOh! Those Liberty flowers make me smile. I wish I worked nearby so I could walk by each day and get my spirit lifted. Your garden is looking lovely as well. I love how your fence is scalloped on top. Happy birthday to your little lady!

Thanks Bronwyn, what a fabulous entrance to a store...wish I could replicate it at home! ;) xxx
DeleteSounds like a lovely half-term. We are so lucky to have such great museums and galleries in the UK, I love visiting Kelvingrove which is my nearest one. Your garden is looking good, much better than mine, we could do with some sunshine. Hx
ReplyDeleteWe are so lucky, there's a wealth of museums in London, all for free...we use the premier inn which is great value too, so overall not too bad on the purse strings! :) xxx
DeleteThey do grow up so tremendously fast, here I am a grandmother with a daughter plenty old enough to be having babies, in fact she's older than I was when I had her, but I swear it's only yesterday she was a tiny tot herself.
ReplyDeleteIt looks and sounds like you had a fabulous day in London, here's hoping the last few days of half term are as good x
They've been great Annie...I think I'm a long way off being a grandma, I had my two quite late but I've got friends who are! Yes, they grow too fast :) xxx
DeleteThe week seems to have flown by in a blur, thanks so much for sharing your lovely moments! I love the National Gallery, I always come home with a head full of colour and ideas!x
ReplyDeleteMe too...could spend days lost in there! :) xxx
DeleteI know what you mean about the reverse button. It was my youngest 21st last sat .Simply cant believe how quickly times flies. I long for the days for building a den under the table and having dolly tea parties. now, its all fancy cocktails and shoes. sigh.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a wonderful day
Those days of playing with our children are sp precious aren't they, and are over before we know it...I used to always say, housework can wait, I'm so glad I took the time to be with them! :) xxx
DeleteSounds like a lovely week - so glad you managed to get to London! And very impressed with all your garden activity - it's looking so lovely. Ours still needs so much work - and some redesigning I think, but I'm out of my depth with that one. Am sure it will happen in the fulness of time. Can't do everything! Enjoy the birthday celebrations and Happy Birthday to your (not so) little one xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you Zoe, she's on the ceiling with excitement! It will be the first time I've had the garden just as I wanted it...still pinching myself! :) xxx
Deleteflowers look so great in those galvanised buckets, don't they? I feel as if I could settle down comfortably in that inviting armchair in your last image. Have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteThey do don't they. That chair gets better with age, sadly can't say the same about me! ;) xxx
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a wonderful day in London and managed to pack lots in.
ReplyDeleteThey do grow up so very fast don't they, I've really been feeling this lately. Thanks for the reminder to embrace the changes. xx
