Midway...

It's midway through the holidays, it's going so fast...I really want to press the pause button, I'm enjoying our slow pace. We've settled back after our hectic the time in Brighton. I'm sorry, I'm that laid back, I've still not uploaded any photos! In fact...these are all my Instagram images, I know, I know...very lax!

We've had sleepovers, started on the school uniforms, met up with friends, said goodbye to one very special one. Picked naturism pods to pickle, I've even started Minnie her very own blanket. Mainly though, I've been faffing at home and in the garden, moving stuff around, then moving it around some more.

It's strange, but my thoughts are already turning to Autumn, yes, you read right, Autumn! I can't quite believe it, I'm usually the last to let go of summer. Maybe it's because the weather has been so poor this year. I'm already feeling like I want to light candles, and snuggle under blankets in the evening.

Today has been a lovely day, picnicking and strolling in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales...I took loads of photos, I wonder how long it will take for me to upload them. (Please, don't hold your breath!)

I've got a packed week ahead, well packed for me anyway, but I will try my best to share Brighton with you ;)

Well, I hope if you're in holiday mode you're having a relaxed, fun time...I'd love to hear all about it...

Amanda :) xxx

Even Minnie is chilled...

  3. Oh how fast it flies by, as ever. The berries are turning red and everything is drying out. But I shall make the very most of the next three weeks. I hope you have a lovely time too. CJ xx

  4. I'm so glad you managed your picnic and that you had a nice day. We're off to Derbyshire on Friday and I'm really looking forward to exploring it. As soon as I see the first blackberries my thoughts turn to autumn, although I'm not ready to say goodbye to summer yet. Have a wonderful week Amanda. xx

  5. some lovely photos you have shared, the picnic spot looks beautiful. Like you I have been so disappointed with our summer or rather lack of it, leaves already turning but think that is partly due to not having had much rain just dismal and cold, never mind another summer will come next year!

  10. It's funny, I'm thinking of autumn too. I've not enjoyed the heat this summer, but I am glad of the break from school runs. Your photos may be few but they're lovely. I like your (Rice??) cups :)

  12. I am ready for Fall, too! We've had a pretty hot (for us) and muggy summer, I'm happily dreaming of cooler weather. Taffy was bought this weekend in Fall flavors (pumpkin pie, candy apple, and candy corn). Soft pillow covers being knit for the couches. Full nesting mode! Kids are done with summer camps and county fair, kitchen is getting a bit of fixing up this week, and I'm so ready for fall baking and all the cozy we can manage!! We are supposed to be having very mild fall and winter weather again, much to my household's disappointment. I look forward to seeing your Brighton pictures!

  14. A wonderful post dear Amanda and great photos, I love your house and the colours you have used in it, lovely touches of colour in your accessories and the fabric pieces. I love yellow nasturtiums, I have one pale yellow and hope to find a bright yellow one this year.
Minnie is such a beautiful kitty, it is lovely to see her photo at the end of each post. I apologise for not commenting recently, I have had and am still recovering from a very painful bout of the 'shingles', I haven't felt well enough to do much at all.
    Have a great week!
