He's bounded into our lives, ears flapping in the breeze, like a little whirlwind.
He's the most adorable, loveable little dog.
He's noisy, he gets into EVERYTHING, never far from our feet.
He's soft and cuddly, warm and snugly.
He's a pooping and peeing machine.
He's only just learning that night-time is sleep time, and not barking time.
He's fascinated by our cat, it's not recipicated.
He's learnt to sit, especially when there are treats involved.
He's turned our lives upside down, and inside out.
He's Otto.
I think we can safely say, we are now a dog owning family. Whilst sat around the table this evening eating dinner, Otto decided to poop under it. And you know something, we were not totally grossed out by this fact! Yep, family with a dog...can handle anything.
THANK YOU SO MUCH, for your lovely comments on my last post, I've only just posted them, and I'm sorry I've not had time to answer them. It's been very busy, but no more busy than I thought. It's a bit like being landed with a full on toddler, who doesn't know us, so won't sleep at night, who's also being potty trained, and who's into everything! You'll notice most of the photos are of Otto sleeping, that's because he's too fast otherwise to get a good picture!
I hope I'm back soon!
Amanda :) xxx
Minnie spends most of her time here...so avoids the noisy youngster...very clever kitty! ;)
I know just how you are feeling! Who thought that having poo on your floor would not be a major crisis, but just something to be dealt with! I'm sure you are all having fun, as we are with Basil. x
ReplyDeleteMixture of fun and hard work at this stage Sara...but I'm sure it will all be fine, eventually! ;) xxx
Deletehe is gorgeous.Our dau
ReplyDeleteGites and family got a puppy a couple of months ago and he is also into everything. She popped out one evening for ten minutes to pick Ruby up from Brownies, left Kodi in his cage. When they opened the front door Kodi greeted them with foil hanging from his mouth. He had managed to get out of his cage, into Sarah's bag and torn open a chocolate orange. Two worrying hours at the vets and a bill for £186 !!!!!So the moral of this story is keep Otto away from chocolate .
Oh my goodness, I'd forgot that chocolate is poison to them, glad it's not for us humans! And I'm glad he was ok too...in future eat the chocolate orange straight away! ;) xxx
DeleteHe is too cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :) xxx
DeleteIt's so lovely to meet Otto , he is so adorable! Your comments make me smile and remind me what it was like for us too, exactly a year ago. It does get easier and I know the rewards will be worth all the hard work .Hope he starts to settle more at night. Sarah x
ReplyDeleteIt's a bit of a whirlwind at the moment but I know it will settle at some point in the not too distant future! :) xxx
DeleteWhat a lovely little puppy Otto is!!!
ReplyDeleteHe will brighten up your family life.
In my opinion, watching a sleeping dog is so calm and peaceful.
I love this side of our dog which is stucking to my heels all day ; )
Have a wonderful week! Angela
Having a cuddle with him is very calming :) xxx
DeleteOh what a pretty little pooch he is...and he will turn your lives upside down, in the best possible way.....enjoy!
ReplyDeleteVery much upside down, but who wants to be upright anyway! :) xxx
DeleteGood Lord, he is absolutely adorable. Ten times ten adorable. I love his little feet and his eyebrows are so kissable. I do know what it is like to have a puppy, to have poop and wee and barking..and all that stuff. We have two Newfoundland dogs and I cannot keep up with the fall leaves, fir needles etc. that they bring in the house. Would I trade them? No. I'll bet he still has that delicious puppy breath too. Oh, he is so lucky to be in your house. Such love.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing such a darling here.
Gosh, two puppies, my hat goes off to you! They sound adorable! :) xxx
DeleteHe has got you all wrapped round his little finger! Do hope Minnie is not feeling pushed oit, Sophie my daughter`s cat 17 took to the puppy very well and this year she seemed so frightened by the fireworks, which has not ha. Once Otto stops rushing around so much maybe they too will sleep together etc
ReplyDeleteMinnie is getting lots of love and cuddles so don't worry...not sure they will ever be asleep on the same chair though! ;) xxx
DeleteOh my, he's absolutely gorgeous. Exactly the sort of chap I'd go for if I had a dog. I LOVE him! I hope you'll all be very happy together. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteThank you CJ, you will have to blame the choice on Little Bea, she was in charge on that one! ;) xxx
DeleteOtto is utterly ADORABLE!! What a little poppet! He will soon settle into your routine, you just find that you repeat yourselves a lot with puppies! I used to take Wilson outside every hour and say" do wee wees" he soon got the hang of it. Also have lots of chew toys around, he has never never chewed any furniture or anything.
ReplyDeleteAnyway happy puppy lovin Amanda xxx
Good Boy, Otto, Toilet, Sit...No! All on a loop now, think I've lost the art of conversation! ;) xxx
DeletePoor cat, so her world is now apparently reduced to a chair in one room. Everyone seems to have the same dog in blog land recently, with people leaping on the trendy puppy wagon. I find it sad that these little dogs cute as they are, are taken into homes with happy cats who then have their lives turned upside down because they aren't seen as 'enough'. Cats are very territorial and like to feel safe in their homes. It's hard for them outside but inside the home is usually where their safe haven is, where they feel wanted and happy. Bringing in unwanted newcomers makes cats fearful and very upset. Next thing is they start weeing on the beds because they are so distressed about the new comer, and it is them that gets shouted at and then given away. Hopefully to someone who fully wants and appreciates them though and puts them first.
ReplyDeleteSo Anonymous you are a cat lover, that's ok, I am too. You are also incredibly judgemental...well I'm gad I'm not that as well! :) xxx
DeleteOh he's so gorgeous. A dog can only bring lots more love and laughter to a home xx
ReplyDeleteAnd pee and poop! ;)) xxx
DeleteGr8!!!!! (Otto in italian means eight!!!!) !!!! Imagine all your happiness to be a dog family and all the job that this!!!!! ;oD
ReplyDeletehappy week, xxxxxx Ale
He's definately 8 times faster than me Ale! ;) xxx
DeleteHe does look gorgeous, but has a 'little bit of mischief' in his face!!!
ReplyDeleteI am sure you will get sorted in time, who knows we may find a picture popping up of Minnie and Otto in the same chair.
Now that would be lovely, think Otto will have to calm down a bit first! ;) xxx
DeleteHe is just the cutest litttle thing. How could you get mad at him even if he does poop everywhere. I saw the most sweet, cute little puppy on Saturday. She had been abandoned and the ISPCA were looking for a home for her. I hate to think what had happened to her. She was not like a puppy should be. She didn't nibble at my fingers of lick me on the face, she just snuggled down into my arms and looked into my face. I totally fell in love with her and immediately wanted to bring her home and show her some real love. Sadly my husband didnt feel the same way and was adamant that she couldn't come to live with us. Well we do already have two cats and two dogs. I was heartbroken having to leave her behind. I can only hope that she got a good home.
ReplyDeleteRosie
Oh Rosie that poor little thing, hopefully she will go to a very loving home...two dogs and two cats, I admire your stamina! ;) xxx
DeleteAww, Otto! What a cute fellow you are!!!! He really is gorgeous isn't he! xx
ReplyDeleteHe's very cute...with very sharp teeth! ;) xxx
DeleteAdorable. It's really the only word, isn't it? Years of fun together, how lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynne, we are hoping so too! :) xxx
DeleteJust adorable!
ReplyDelete;) xxx
DeleteLittle Otto is adorable, such a sweet puppy face, love those big eyes and soft floppy ears. He will settle in soon and sleep through the night and fill your lives with happiness.
ReplyDeleteMinnie is a wise kitty retreating to her chair. :)
xoxoxo ♡
Minnie is a very savvy cat, she's been in the same room as him a couple of times, he's a bit too boisterous for her :) xxx (me too! ;))
DeleteOh my word, how exciting! You are the third blogger friend to recently get a puppy (Sandra at Cherry Heart and Jooles at Sew Sweet Violet are both welcoming puppies into their lives lately) and I am plain jealous. We've been skirting around this for months now and it never seems to be the "right" time. But I don't think there ever is a right time for a dog. Otto is completely gorgeous, just perfectly adorable. xx
ReplyDeleteWell Gillian, it's full on hard work at the moment but I can already see what joy he will bring our family! :) xxx
DeleteWhat an utterly charming addition to your family! I haven't caught up with you in awhile so will continue backwards in time :~)
ReplyDeleteHi my dear, hope all is well :) xxx
DeleteOtto looks adorable, I'm so envious as I can't have a dog, dratted allergies! Enjoy your furry bundle of love. Hx
ReplyDeleteI do get a bit of a reaction to him, more itchy lumps than wheezy...I'm hoping my body builds up natural defences, I was the same with Minnie when she first came to live with us! :) xxx
