Thank You So Much....

I am so overwhelmed, Victoria has given me One Lovely Blog Award!

This took me completely by surprise, in fact I was SO surprised I forgot to congratulate her on winning the award herself, so congratulations Victoria!

The fact is I panicked, Oh My Goodness I thought, now I have got to learn to link! Crumbs, I'm not ready for that one! The lovely Sassy has even offered to help, from all the way over the other side of the world!

Anyway, much studying has gone off in my household and I am hanging on to the fact that This Is Good For Me, it will stretch my brain, which does need stretching!

Right, I need to share with you 7 things about myself! I will try not to be too boring!!

Number One-

I am dyslexic, which is why this whole Bloggy Business has been such a quandary to me! I don't particularly mind being dyslexic, it allows me to think 'out the box'. I will often come up with solutions, to problems that other people couldn't see (this does not extend to computer problems!).

Number Two-

My favourite colour is duck egg blue, I'm also partial to a bit of pink!

Number Three-

I am a strong person. Life has thrown some huge challenges to me over the last few years. I have faced them head on and learnt a lot about myself in the process. Hope and positivity has helped me overcome so much!

Number Four-

I grew up in a sweet shop! Yum yum, think that's where my love of colourful jars came from!

Number Five-

I am an Early Years trained Specialist. For the last 27 years I have worked in this field, most of that time working with vulnerable children and their families. It has been an honour working with these families, they taught me not to 'judge a book by its cover'. If you treat people with respect then it's amazing what you can be achieve together. Unfortunately I am no longer able to do this special role, this blog is my new baby!

Number Six-

I love my garden. A few years ago when I was very ill, my garden helped me to heal. I set myself a challenge to weed and plant small sections each day. I felt my body get stronger, and as I saw the plants grow, it gave me hope.

Number Seven-

One day I might grow up into a Proper Adult, but hopefully that won't be for some time yet!! Until then, I will always love bunting!

There are SO many lovely blogs it has been difficult to choose, if you aren't on this list it's not that I don't love you, but it would just take too long to link you all!!!

I would like to nominate 2 special ladies, who don't don't know it, but their blogs have helped me through some tough times over the last couple of years, thank you to Lisa from Mrs Bo Bo Bun and Jane from Teawagon Tales.

Also Lynne from Textile Treasury, who inspired me to start blogging.

And lastly to Hoots Cove and The Polka Dot Petticoat for your lovely blogs.

Phew!! Let's hope the links work, if not I apologise profusely!

Ada :) x

p.s. sorry for the random pictures!

  6. Don't ever grow up, no that would be terrible. From the start you've jumped in and written a great blog with an individual voice so it's been a pleasure to find out a bit more about this person who kept leaving me comments. Obviously with a name like vintage sheet addict I kept thinking I'd love to see her stash and then you started blogging so I could finally peek. Growing up in a sweetshop would be fun (Millie's words as she's reading this as I type). Sounds like a fascinating job and I bet you were a wonderful person for all the families you worked with. Kind of what I do, but at the beginning of their troubles. We get them when life has bashed them around and they're left as confused teens.

I was really touched by how you used your garden to heal. It's sounds a fabulous idea and it clearly worked. Blogging's great for that too isn't it. I've found it's only when I'm really down that I can't write, but otherwise it's a great boost to look for all the positive things in your day and write about them, even if it was just hanging washing on the line and cuddling the rabbit.

I was thrilled to hear I'd been nominated Ada, but when I read that my blog and Jane's, without knowing it, have been a real support to you I was moved. It's not an aspect of blogging that I've ever considered before. It offers so many things like sharing of ideas, chatting, meeting like minded people, being more creative and having a good read, but I'd never considered the important part that it could brighten someone's day. I feel a bit overwhelmed and humbled that you say my blog has done that for you Ada so thank you for letting me know.

Have a great week Lisa X

  7. Dear Ada, richly deserved! And yes, I remember (it's only a few weeks ago!) the sheer terror I felt when Cathy at Potter Jotter awarded me a Sunshine Blogger Award - OMG (to use the current vernacular!) how on Earth do I do this thing? I tried and tried and got in a mess...a trip to Cathy's put me right in a flash. This bloggy business really does open you up to New Things - new friends, new blogs, new skills, new fun.......such a brilliant thing to do.

I'm sure we - the bloggers mentioned in your post - are as chuffed as can be to be mentioned as inspiration of some sort or the other....what goes around comes around, you are out there now inspiring someone else hovering in the wings! Well done again! Lxx

Please don't ever appologise for anything you put on your blog - your blog = your rules/tastes/loves. We come and read because we like that too and if we don't that's ok as well. Your blog seems to be growing at a wonderful pace and you shoult be proud. Great to learn something about you too.

  17. Ooh, congratulations on your award, and to your nominees too, some lovely ladies who I 'know' well there, and a couple who are new to me, what a treat.

I think there are a fair few of us blogging who have come to it when ill health has put paid to the things we were doing or had planned to do. Such a blessing this bloggy community, and filled with so many inspiring folk :D
