Hope Ewe all had a great Easter! (Sorry bad joke!)
We had a great time in Derbyshire, will share soon. I picked up this little darling in one of the many shops I went into! It's amazing what you can do when no one saying...do we HAVE to go in that shop Mum!
I'm just getting my head around Bloglovin. I've signed up and will start to catch up with your lovely blogs soon, I've missed so much! I'm not sure if this link will work, but if you wish to, you can Follow my blog with Bloglovin.
Does anyone else feel overwhelmed with all this technology? I had a serious confidence wobble today. I love my little blog, and you know how much I love your visits here, but sometimes I'm not sure I can keep up with all this.
I thought today about retiring from my blog, saying goodbye. I would of course still visit you all, I just feel it's getting really difficult to keep on top of the changes.
Give me a family in crisis and I can jump into action (actually, I'm not sure I can jump anymore, but you know what I mean!) I would know what to do. Put me in front of a computer, and none of it makes sense!
Sorry to have a little rant, just feeling a little lost in it all........
Ada :) x
I have been adopting a head-in-the-sand stance to all this talk of Google Reader being retired (how very dare he!) and needing to change to Bloglovin, so I completely know where you are coming from! Please don't give your blog up though - your sunny little corner would be very much missed!
ReplyDeletex
Thank you, just wish they would stop changing things! :) x
DeleteHi Ada, I know the feeling, but we cannot let this ruin all our bloggy friendships!!! And you know what, we've manage to cope so far and we'll manage the new changes as well!! We can and we will!!! We are NOT too old for all this new technology!! Never!!!
ReplyDeleteLove
AMarie
Bless you Anne-Marie, I know we aren't old! (But it does all seem confusing!) :) x
Delete~ Hello, Mrs...I think with blogging you can get a little over loaded at times....And usually the times are when you have had a 'wee' break away...You feel you have to check in with every one...Just go with the flow, Ada...Don't try to do too much, my friend! Some times I feel my hands go into action on here, before my brain is in gear! hehe...I do not do technology me self and usually have to SHOUT LOUDLY for the young folk in the house for HELP! But I love my blog and the friends I have made through this virtual world...Including YOU! Glad your break away was lovely! And a big AWWW for cutie lamb....With chocolate hugs! Maria x
ReplyDeleteThanks Maria, I'm very grateful for the friendships I've made through blogging! :) x
DeleteSweet Ada, there have been times when I have felt almost "obliged" to blog but I have had to stop myself and remember that its my log of little parts of my life, I am not doing it for anyone else. The fact that I have comments and conversations is a HUGE bonus and I love that as well as having met some gorgeous people too. As for the technology...well I am pretty hopeless and will just see what happens rather than fretting about all the changes.
ReplyDeleteI wold miss you very much if you closed down but totally understand if you really want to. You are an inspiration to many creative bloggers out there xox big hugs, Penny xox
Thanks Penny, just having a wobble, sometimes it feels like the world is going a whole lot faster than I am! :) x
DeleteYou don't have to jump into every new bit of technofaf that comes along. Just stick with writing about your lovely adventures in the sheeting world and wee will stop by and say Hi!
ReplyDeleteThank you, yes I think it is that simple really, I've not got to get too complicated! :) x
Deletelove the little sheep. the whole Google Reader thing is a bit of a pain - it took me long enough to sorted in the first place and now it is all changing, so I know what you mean. Do whatever makes you happy (though secretly I hope you keep blogging because I just adore your vintage sheet pictures - in fact I blame you entirely for the fact I've become obsessed with vintage sheets myself!).
ReplyDeleteNikki x
It's an easy thing to become addicted to! I can think of worse though, can't you! :) x
DeleteI'm a bit lost... have I missed something... blog loving? what is happening have I got to do something?? as I say lost and confused !! smiles Cass x
ReplyDeleteIf I'm honest I don't even know what google reader is, but I'm told it finishes soon! Think I'm getting my head around Bloglovin, it's not too difficult......I don't think! :) x
DeleteI'm also confused. Is something changing?
ReplyDeleteLove your new header by the way, and would miss your blog very much if it disappeared (although it sounds like mine is in danger of disappearing if I don't get with the programme...)
Google reader is going.....have a look at bloglovin and see what you think! :) x
DeletePlease don't leave Ada.I've not heard of bloglovin, oops, way behing with it all.I'll just keep plodding along for as long as I can, techno phobe too. Looking forward to hearing more of your trip, love the little Ewe.lots of love julie.
ReplyDeleteXxxx
Thanks Julie, I'll post about the trip soon! :) x
DeleteI never do links, change fonts or anything and I know how you feel. I read what you write and never think about anything technical so I really hope you keep going! Love nick xx
ReplyDeleteI'm getting a bit braver, I'm always worried I'll loose everything if I press the wrong button! :) x
DeleteOh I seem to have missed something - Bloglovin????
ReplyDeleteNow don't even think about it... you've just made a lovely new header and everything... and I bet I'm not alone loving popping by here!
Ellie
x
Thanks Ellie, I love my new header too. Just wish I was a bit more technically minded!!! :) x
DeleteGlad you had a fun weekend! Love the little sheep you bought. I am hopeless with technology too, hope it doesn't put you off too much, I love visiting your lovely blog.
ReplyDeleteM xxxx
Thank you! Seems there are a few of us......... :) x
DeleteDon't let technology get you down - blog as and when you want! And read blogs however you want to! You are a blogging star! x
ReplyDeleteThanks, your right, I'm not going to let it get me down! :) x
DeleteWhat a cute sheep - and I love the fabric behind him too :)
ReplyDeleteBloglovin is fabulous - I switched recently and it's so much nicer to use than Google Reader - I love reading blogs as they were meant to be rather than a stripped down view....you mustn't give up on your blog - it's fabulous!
Actually, I thought that today! When I switched to my emails there it was, lots of lovely photo of my favourite blogs....not a bad start to the day! Silver linings and all that! :) x
DeleteDear Ada, when I got my message that Google Reader was shutting down in July, I thought, "Now what?" Luckily, I have a computer savvy daughter who also reads blogs and she steered me to Thunderbird. I use this as my email program and it has an RSS feed reader and I've finally managed to get almost all of my blogs onto it. I still have Google Reader up but don't need it now. Thunderbird updates each time I open and then every 60 minutes. BUT, if it hadn't been for my daughter, I would be floating out there in Internetville wondering how in the world I was going to stay connected to all my blog buddies. Have a great week, Ada.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sharon
Thank goodness for computer savvy daughters, mine are getting there but a little way to go! :) x
DeleteWe all need a little rant sometimes Ada. Quite often I can be found screaming at my computer. I set up on Bloglovin and it's great for seeing posts that I would otherwise miss. I read it on the go but I can#t comment....and not working on my laptop either. I'm get really frustrated too with all of this.
ReplyDeleteLoving the sheep by the way. So cute and pink too. Inside Crochet has a pattern this month for a knitting sheep and I'm going to start that soon. Cant resist a cute sheep!!
Rosie xx
Thanks Rosie, yes computers can be both frustrating and fascinating! :) x
DeleteI completely sympathise. It's difficult trying to find a balance of enjoying posting and comment but not feeling overwhelmed by technical aspect. There appears to a lot of us who struggle with technology so at least we can attempt to help each other out when we feel confused!
ReplyDeleteYep, there's a lot of us feeling the same, not just me.....lots of support here! Thanks :) x
Deletehi ada...cute sheep!...im a tad lucky in that I never used google reader. have always been bloglovin....phew finally something techy goes my way!!.....your not lost, your human!x
ReplyDeleteVery human! :) x
DeleteI SOOOOO know what you mean - I have no idea how bloggers keep up with facebook, twitter, instagram, pintrest, bloglovin, yada yada yada ... I'm scared to link it all up and I think I would feel a little overwhelmed, I do just at the thought ... I don't even know what google friends connect does - right, I have to stop, I'm beginning to sound like my mum!!
ReplyDeletexx
I think I will just stick with my blog and Facebook! :) x although I do fancy Instagram!
Deletei know how u feel! a friend left a lengthy and helpful comment on my post about all this, feel free to check it out...i found it useful
ReplyDeletexx
ps i do love ur blog dearly and wld be sad to see it go!
Thanks Mezz, I'll check that out! :) x
Deletei know that feeling, too....It's a very completive world....
ReplyDeleteI thought to stop blogging, too, but my husband say to go on, because he knows how good effects blogging had and have on me!!!!
I love visiting you, xxx Ale
Mr Bea says the same, he knows how beneficial blogging has been to me! :) x
DeleteOh, how cute is he! I hear you with all the changes! It is definitely hard to keep up with everything! Wishing you a beautiful week! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather, better start jogging! :) x
Deletelike you I am struggling with google reader going, hope to get a lesson at the library, they sorted me out with my blog in the first place so hopefully they can sort out bloglovin, if not that will mean goodbye.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute ewe, wondered if you would have had problems with snow in Derbyshire, we still have it lying in part of the garden in Leeds but most has gone now.
What a great service Margaret! Hadn't even thought of the library! Yes to the snow but all the roads were open! :) x
DeleteOh no, please don't stop. Love your lovely blog. I've never used google reader and don't intend to bother with bloglovin. The way I keep up with my favourite blogs is to make sure I list them in the side bar of my blog. If you list them with a picture and title(which I see you do) it's really easy to see when they have updated. Of course this does mean that if you follow a lot of blogs then you have to have a big list in the side bar but if you don't mind that then I find this is definitely the easiest way to keep up with things. It's the way I've done it for the past 7 years. Love the little Ewe by the way. Fiona x
ReplyDeleteI'll have a look at listing more in my sidebar.....I just follow so many lovely, lovely blogs! :) x
DeleteI'm with you and need to visit my google guru but have no time to do so. It is hard to ask when everyone else seems so savvy! Everyone says to switch to Feedly and Bloglovin' but how??? I will no doubt leave it till the eleventh hour as usual!
ReplyDeleteJust go onto the Bloglovin site and sign up! They then transfer all the blogs you follow over to their site, you get an email each day with the latest posts! :) x
DeleteI am with you Ada on all this technologically challenging stuff. I am currently trying to blog on an iPad ( the only device in the house not stolen) and it is not a fun experience. Do keep blogging but do what works for you. Love your new blog header, it's gorgeous. mel x
ReplyDeleteI always use the Blogsy app to write my posts, I find it is much easier than on the lap top! :) x
DeleteHi lovely, I am afraid im not up on this blogloving thing either I think if something works for you don't change it. And I love visiting here but I understand how you feel. Sadly I had to delete my blog last night after 6 years due to abusive messages from husbands Ex I just couldn't cope anymore with it. But I will still be popping into read all my favourite blogs and I follow you on face book already. I have opened up a new account there Dee dees vintage retro delights I think you commented on my cups on there. Anyway thank you for all your support and previous comments on my blog. Best wishes, dee xx
ReplyDeleteOh Delia, that's awful, I'm so sorry! I will keep up to date with you on your Facebook site :) x
DeleteNooooo, please don't retire your blog! I love visiting here Ada. I'm no good with technology either. I don't even use a mobile phone. Hang in there. Love me! xo
ReplyDeleteWill do Mel, even if its by the skin of my teeth, which I'm sure it will be! :) x
Deletewas it the part when you have to claim your blog and type in the html code to a blog post by any chance!!? I haven't done that yet, but I'm sure between us we'll all worl it out. Keep blogging xxxx
ReplyDeleteHi yes it was but think I sussed it out! Thanks :) x
DeleteI am completely befuddled by this imminent change! Why don't you write a 'how to' post and show us all what to do!? It would be ever so helpful ... I feel like such a Luddite and just bury my head in the sand!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are continuing your blog.
M x
I'd love too, only can't remember what I did now!!! I think Bloglovin is fairly straight forward, it was the bit where I had to 'claim my blog'. You search for you blog then paste the web address into your new post....I think! :) x
DeleteI guess I'm really lucky that the tech stuff doesn't confuse me, in fact I love it, and you know I'm always happy to help my blogging friends out ... just email me if I can help :D
ReplyDeleteAnnie....I'm sure I will! :) x
ReplyDeleteI joined bloglovin' a few days ago but it hasn't transferred the blogs I follow onto it. How did you get it to do that?
ReplyDeleteI've done the claiming my blog thing (well I couldn't get it to work, so I emailed bloglovin' and they did it for me).
I think you're way better at this technology stuff than me!
By the way how do you put a header on your blog? I would like to do that.
It did it automatically! Email them and ask, I'm not sure why it didn't, sorry! The header- go into Layout, then click onto header. You just need to upload a new photo, luckily this one fitted, I think you can press the shrink to fit button and it resizes your photo! Hope that helps! :) x
