Happy Parcels......And Other Stuff!

Well, my anniversary pressie finally arrived, a week later than anticipated but as they say, 'it got there in the end'!

My very own rocking chair, all out 'granny chic' this one, Mr Bea laughed when I mentioned I wanted a rocking chair.....I have however found him rocking away, Little Bea too when she gets a chance! It was in the conservatory but I'm afraid it will melt in the sun!

And Mr Bea, well I got him a Crosley record player! Yes we were bopping away when it arrived, I'm looking forward to acquiring some favourite LPs again. My friend is bringing me her old Grease album, very excited!!!

But for now the Chart Hits of '81 will do, along with a few others. Think it looks rather good sat on that little table. Eldest Bea just rolls her eyes in despair......she so wishes she lived with a modern, fashionable family, like her friends at school!

I've filled the space on one wall with vintage sheet hoops.....I know it's been done a thousand times before, but well, couldn't resist....just need a few tiny ones now.

I've had a shuffle around and my typewriter is now back where she was, next to....

These lovely little flowers from my garden. I've decided to keep these filled with garden flowers all through the summer, so I think you'll be seeing these milk bottles a lot.

New curtains for our living room, colourful and happy!

Yes it's definitely starting to get more colourful in here!

And this week we discovered panelling in the hallway, and had new banisters fitted too!

Once this areas been decorated, I'm planning a little homage to Vintage Wallpaper, much to the distress of two members of our family. They'll love it in the end.....I hope!

Well, I might not have had chance to get stitching, or hooking lately but I have been, I suppose been creative in my own little way. Oh and do you remember our old Smeg freezer door?

Well it's now on the kitchen wall, little wonky, but life's like that, don't you think?!!

I'm slowly catching up with everyone, you've all been up to all sorts of mischief, as usual! Thank you for reading, and thank you to those who let me know you've stopped by!

Bye for now,

Ada :) xxx

  4. I love the new record player! I had the Grease album, bought it at a yard sale when I was little. I was born the year the movie came out so I didn't have interest right away. :)

  11. Goodness you've been busy! I love your chair. I have a rocking chair - it was my nursing chair all those years ago, but it's been recovered and lives in the lounge now, and is perfect to sit in and crochet. Enjoy your week. x

Your room is looking lovely with all your bits and pieces, I still have some LP`s, got rid of most of them but kept all the Gene Pitney ones and a few others, might just have to play some today. Good to see the fridge door has gone on the wall

  21. It all looks so cheerful, and the rocker looks like a wonderful place to sit. The Grease album brings back a few memories! I've kept some of my old records, although we don't have a record player anymore, maybe one day. (I'm not surprised you are behind with your veg patch,as you've been quite busy inside!) I've loved revealing old details in our house too.

Love your new chair, love the record player but especially LOVE that you are a Grease fan :) I have the Grease album, well actually it's my cousin's, I somehow never returned it to her, I've had it for about 35 years now lol and she lives in Texas (I am in the UK) so I don't suppose she'll be getting it ack any time soon either LOL

  26. Such fun little corners of your home :) Your kitchen looks most inviting and I can just picture you all having a lovely Sunday dinner at the table with a scratchy record playing ... have you got one that 'skips' yet?! Love the rocking chair! How cool is that!! And it's the perfect colour :) Your paneling looks like it's disguising a cupboard under the stairs! I wish we had a place under our stairs, but they're only half a storey high, so no good. Have a great week Ada B! Wendy x PS I actually grew up with VERY uncool parents, so I understand how your girls feel ;)

  28. I am loving it all especially the chair and the hoops on the wall. So glad I am not the only person who has the eldest child rolling her eyes. I love car boot and charity shops. My eldest daughter made me swear I would only go to areas her friends didn't go to .As I was so embarrassing. Haha . Isn't it great when they disapprove.
Your home looks so amazing. Have a lovely day

  34. Gosh i almost missed the rocking chair, how did that happen! I've never in a chair like that, so I can only imagine :-) I think it all looks great. My son is trying to convince me that we need to put a giant flat screen tv above the fire place, instead of my things! apparently that's what everyone else does!......I like your type writer stamp by the way, enjoy the 80's hits! Heather x
