I've just returned from a wonderful long weekend, with my lovely friend.
A time, very much needed by both of us, to recharge and refresh our very depleted energy levels. Walks along the beach, I still can't go very far, but I'm determined I will again one day.
Time given to pottering, reading, chatting and laughing.....
We stayed in a perfect little cottage in the Suffolk seaside town of Aldeburgh, the weather was warm and sunny.....the fish 'n' chips, just right! We sat on the beach eating them with a bottle of Boudreaux......yes just right!
We bought fish from the local fishermen and ate simple, wholesome food. My friend is an excellent cook, I'm an excellent 'tidier upper'.....the perfect team!
We loved the little fishing boats....
We took a little drive up to Southwold....
With its perfect rows of beach huts, my friend hadn't been before, and whilst it was strange not being there with my family, it was good to share and introduce to someone new.
Oh those beach huts.....good enough to eat!
We walked along the pier, stopping of for a small glass of wine....then giggling like schoolgirls in the pier arcade!
Yes, recharged and refreshed......ready to face what life throws at us, (since we have got back my friend most of her time in hospital with her very poorly parents).
'twas lovely, 'twas perfect, 'twas just what we needed.....
And so I continue renewing our home, the latest room to be revamped has been the hall and stairs, you may remember we revealed some wooden panels on the stairs a few weeks ago, well these have now been freshly painted....
And are just waiting for some VSA treatment! Oh yes, I do like a bit of colour!
And then it just needs a bit of titivating, another favourite activity of mine!
I know I've been neglecting this little space, but I'm hoping with my battery recharge I can give it, and you more time, more of my energy. I feel like I've got my voice back, I'm feeling the need to create again. It feels good...so good.
Bye for now,
Ada :) xxx
