Early Summer at Felley Priory...

Warm and sunny.
A gentle breeze.
Glorious scent.
A feast for the eyes.
Birds tweeting.
Bees humming.
Good company.
Great coffee.
Sheer inspiration.

My garden is an absolute mess at the moment, in disarray. Lots of plants are being moved, they look very sorry for themselves, this really isn't the time to move them...they should be bursting with colour. Rome wasn't built in a day. We are building the foundation, each growing season will bring improvement. Well that's what I keep telling myself!

What a lovely way to spend a few hours. My visit to Felley Priory has inspired me, it's got a very reasonably priced garden centre too, so a little basket of plants came home with me...;)

The sun is shining, better pour myself a cuppa and do a little bit more...
Amanda :) xxx

p.s. Had a great day at Hope and Elvis, made myself a garden journal!

  2. What a beautiful place, it looks so inspirational. It's lovely to be outside at this time of year isn't it. All that light and green, wonderful. My garden is nothing special, but even so it's nice to sit out there. A garden journal sounds a very good thing, I shall look forward to seeing it. CJ xx

  6. Oh what gorgeous photos, and what a wonderful place! My garden is a mess too, but not because it is changing and is being made for the better!!!! I'm the world's worst gardener! I plan to make an extra effort once Autumn arrives to get better soil and planting and hope that next Spring it will be better. Gardens like Felley Priory are completely inspiring and uplifting. Oh to have views like that everyday..........xxx

    1. Get your soil right and you can almost grow anything! Mines badly in need of some nourishment so I'll be doing the same this autumn :) xxx

  7. Gorgeous photos, we too (or Hubby to be more precise) have been re-doing our borders, it is gradually starting to look a little livelier but isn't it surprising just how long it takes!

  11. Such a beautiful garden of flowers and foliage, a lovely way to spend the day and they have plants for sale, that would get me excited. :-)
Your garden will evolve in time and be just as you want it. I have so much to do to my own garden but I try not to stress, it takes time and money which I don't have, I try to do a little each week. Enjoy your new plants.
Your beautiful kitty looks happy and content in the sunshine.
